Vehicle Detail

This rare find is a 1952 PONTIAC TIN WOODY yes you saw that correctly, a 1952 PONTIAC TIN WOODY that is being listed for the guys at KEENEYE HOT ROD SHOP. With the out of the box thinking they adhere too and projects in the wings they just do not have time to start this project that was intended to be a shop vehicle and display model for the quality of work that they stand by. Dare to be different, anyone can build a Chevy we see them at shows all the time, but when was the last time you have seen one of these with patina that only good old Mother Nature can paint. I will try to describe to best of my ability what I know about the car and notes given to me so sit back, read on and enjoy the picture show. This Tin Woody is a dry Arizona car that came to the shop here in Indy about five years ago and has been stored inside only to be pulled out on occasion to wash some dust off and pounder how cool it will be when finished. The original straight 8 runs and runs well, the car moves under its own power and automatic transmission shifts good but not sure when fluid was changed last. It appears that both are original and both have never been apart. The milage on odometer is at about 80,000 and title does match milage. The brakes are in need of repair and parts are available from several sources to rebuild them. The interior as you can see needs to be stripped and re-upholstered but seat frames are good as well as hardware. All the interior wood is there and car has all new glass and windshield gaskets. The body is solid with surface rust only and few places where lite attention is needed. The rockers and frame rails are solid but there is a several sections in floor boards that need replaced or repaired. The rims are original and were sand blasted and painted about two years ago with a good set of vintage wide whites put on for that final touch. The car has an add on A/C unit possibly Sears and Roebuck and am not sure if clutch works but pulley spins and how cool (no pun intended) to get this running as well. Keeneye built one of these in a Chevy form several years ago for a clients mother and was able to use Fatman components too set the very cool ride height. Then used a fresh and thumpy small block with over drive to motivate it (but the straight 8 sounds awesome and I have had good luck with them on a past Pontiac builds.) We recently saw the weather distressed Chevy and the new Canadian owner at the Good Guys Columbus Nationals and after working our way thru the crowd that was around it, the car looked like it did when it came out of the shop and with a surprising 25,000 miles on the odometer. So think out of the box and do something different, restore it or retro-rod it either way a long board out the back is mandatory and would just be bitchin. Why pay for real wood when tin is in! We will make this transaction as smooth as possible and can transport for a small fuel charge to our surrounding state. If you want to set up your own transport we will be avail. when they need to pick up and will assist in the loading of it. if you are the winning bidder a $250.00 non refundable deposit made thru pay pal will be required. Sorry but have been burned in the past and this assures you are willing to buy. Any questions can be answer via cell phone 317-339-9832 and due to spotty service leave voice mail if no answer or email me from ebay or chubbydicks@gmail.com .The reserve is set low so don't be scared good luck and thanks for looking!
