This is a 1967 Mercury Comet Caliente Convertible. It has a 289 V-8 with a C4 Automatic Transmission. This car runs Great, but is not road worthy at this time. The options are few on this car with only power steering, Am Radio (works great), and Power Convertible Top (works great). It has a new Master Cylinder, all new wheel cylinders on all 4, all new brake shoes and hardware. Only the front brakes are connected and working. The rear brakes need new brake lines. You can start the car and move it around the yard. The dash is perfect and without cracks, and all components are in working order. The door panels are in excellent condition. The seat covers are very stiff and will need to be recovered. The windows are all in perfect condition without any damage along with the windshield. This is a Very RARE Mercury with only 1,539 ever made. This is a very unique Classic Car to restore. I have owned the car about 4 years, and I have too many projects, so I am selling this to the highest bidder. This Caliente has a very straight body, but it does have some rust issues. The floor pans need to be replaced both in front and rear, left and right. There is some minor rust around the rear wheel wells and inner rear quarters. The Tork boxes also will need to be repaired or replaced because of rust. There are some very small rust holes at the corners of the doors and the driver side front hood, easily repaired with a patch. The trunk has a few rust roles also that can be repaired easily. The convertible top frame is complete and goes up and down perfectly, but there is not any top material covering them. It will need a new convertible top. This car could be a very cool car and a very unique car at the car shows, one that you won't see very often if at all. This would be an awesome project for the right person.
