The wife & myself thought we were clear of the recession but due to some bad luck both of us are currently unemployed so Up For Sale is my rare Metallic Gold 1971 Porsche 914 1.7 Yes its the original car color option. The 914 has stock Fuel Injection, ECU, the stock oil bath air cleaner thats been converted to paper filter while keep a stock 71' look (Original oil bath Air cleaner will be included). Also, very minimal rust, some dings & paint chips (it is almost 40 years old). This 914 was originally an Arizona car that had been factory undercoated, saving the floor boards. The car was repainted by previous owner in the mid 90’s. I was told the engine was rebuilt by pervious owner 50,000 miles earlier. Most likely one of best 1971 914 in the North East with this little rust, yet she still needs some TLC. I have been restoring the 914 back to period correct and have just over 2000.00 in recent parts alone. Car runs and drives and stops. Recently I have a floating shifting issue which is common with the 70-71. Reverse 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears are fine, yet finding 4th & 5th is challenging, I think she needs an adjustment. Once she up to operating temp runs great. As with all 914 she doesn’t leak oil but marks her spot. The transmission has a small leak from the axle’s seals. Clutch is good, brakes are good. Speedometer sticks sometimes. Still needs some rubber seals and the heat exchangers were removed as they were loose and not functioning. The cone screw at the base of the shifter was loose and needed to be tightened up. It was great driving around again...
