Vehicle Detail

Up for bid in this auction is a '77 Pontiac firebird formula. I purchased this vehicle in March of this year with the intent of having it painted & keeping it for a while. During the same month I also purchased a '76 Mercedes 450sl convertible. My wife wants to keep the convertible. This is the sixth firebird that I have owned(70,74,75,77,84 & 89TTA which I still have today). The main reason that I purchased this car was because of its brute power & torque. I acquired it from the original owners that drove it home in 1977. The son told me that they blew up the original Pontiac 400 a few years ago & he & his father had it replaced with a built 454 out of a '71 chevelle. He told me that it was pushing around 450 HP. The car also has a rebuilt turbo 350 tranny with a shift kit, that was rebuilt last August(I have the receipt). I haven't had the car dynoed, but I have owned many muscle cars over the years including a Dodge viper, & this car is a "BEAST". The car has always been in Tennessee & is very solid. There is no rust in the floors or trunk which is rare for these old cars. The car has been painted once, so I can't say for sure if there were ever any rust in the lower rear quarters, but I don't see any evidence of any. The car was originally brown but was repainted white(they didn't repaint door jambs or inside trunk lid). The motor is topped off with a edelbrock high profile intake & 750cfm carb. It has headers, electric fuel pump, fuel & oil pressure gauges(under cowl hood that can be seen from inside of car), dash tachometer & true dual exhaust. There is an am-fm cassette radio with graphic equalizer in the dash, but will need speakers to replace the audio box that the previous owner removed. The interior is pretty nice with the two front seats having been reupholstered and the carpet looks like it may have been replaced at some point(could use a good cleaning though). The dash is pretty nice but not perfect(a crack on front edge about 2in long). There is a cigarette burn hole in one of the rear seat cushions. The hood is a replacement fiberglass version with a 4in cowl. It has the hood hinges but the springs were removed & the front of it is secured with hood pins(hood needs a little adjusting). I had the rear glass resealed & removed the parking lights, as I was preparing it for painting, but I do have the parking lamps & the rear glass trim is in the trunk. The driver side door handle is broken but the door can be opened from inside. All of the AC components are long gone. Overall a pretty decent car that has plenty of power & the fact that there aren't any more firebirds coming off the assembly lines, these old birds will be pretty collectible. The fact that I have a two car garage instead of three, my loss will be someone's gain. Good luck & if you have any questions or need to contact me, please email or call me, Rick, (615)262-1844.
