Thevehicle is located in Geneva, Illinois, about 40 west of Chicago and 10 miles north ofAurora.I am NOT a mechanic.I will do my best to make full disclosure of all problems I am aware of.I have 100 % positive feedback profile.I bought the vehicle used with about 35,855 miles on it on 10/19/2002. I have not seen thevehicle history report, I do not know the history prior to my purchase. The vehicle has NOT been in any accidents since I bought it in 2002.Problems:1) THIS VEHICLE HAS A MAJOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK. Coolant is leaking from the engine. The coolant is leaking externally on the side of the engine facing the passenger side of the vehicle(side with the belts and pulleys). The coolant is NOT leaking into the crankcase. There isNO coolant mixing with the oil. The coolant leak has been there since I bought the car used.It has been getting gradually worse over the years. Now it leaks so badly I am afraid to drivefarther than short errands around town. Now it leaks approximately 16-32 ounces of coolantevery 30 miles. This is with no pressure on the cooling system. If a 15 LB pressure radiatorcap was used the leak would be much worse. With no pressure on the cooling system the coolantboils at 212 degrees instead of approx. 260 degrees. This means the coolant can boil over undernormal driving conditions. Not a good thing.2) Power windows work but driver side window has problem. When the window goes up it jamsand stops. The top of the window shifts forward in the track causing it to wedge and stop.The work around is to grab the top of the window and pull it back so it is straight in the track.The the window will go up. A mechanic said the problem is probably a bent window track thatneeds to be replaced.3) The carpet on the front passenger side floor is faded and is some spots the backing isshowing. It looks like bleach was spilled on the carpet. It was this way when I boughtthe car. It is mostly hidden by the floor mat. See photos.4) There is an occasional "thunk" sound when turning a corner or pulling into a driveway.When vehicle was alligned the mechanic heard it during the test drive. He indicated it isprobably bushings, nothing to be concerned about. Since the vehicle handles fine I don'tthink it is a problem. The sound has been there since I bought the vehicle and I have notnoticed it get any worse or more frequent.5) Rust in front of the rear wheel wells on both sides. See photos. They are somewhat hiddenwhen the sliding doors are closed.6) There are 3 spots on the hood where the paint is bubbling. I suspect his is caused by rustundernear the paint but there is no rust visible and the areas feel solid to the touch. Theyare along the back edge of the hood (closest to the windshield), the largest 2 are about 3 inchesaround the the other is about 1 inch around. I first noticed them several years ago.6) There was a front windshield leak. I think it is now fixed. It leaked in the top middleof the front windshield. Water dripped down through the overhead console. I appliedweatherstrip adhesive sealant around the outside of windshield weatherstripping where itmeets the roof. The sealant is not applied very evenly so it does not look very good,but it is up high and not very visible.7) The airbag warning light is on intermittently. This indicates a problem with the airbag system.The airbags may not deploy during a front impact collision. Mechanic indicated the fix involvestracing the wiring and could be time consuming and labor intensive fix. 8) The "Change Oil" warning light appears ever time the vehicle is started and displays for 5 minutes. I followed the procedure in the owner's manual to reset it but it will not reset. Pluses:1) A/C works great, blows ice cold. Never any problem with it.2) Passed vehicle emissions testing in May, 2010.3) Vehicle handles great. Drives straight, no pulls in the steering wheel. No play in the steeringwheel. No vibrations.4) Change the oil every 3000 - 4000 miles. Have been using synthetic motoroil for the past 4 years. Does not leak or burn oil. I have never hadto add oil between oil changes. I changed the oil myself so I have no records.5) The transmission works great. I changed the transmission fluid twice, at about 40,000 milesand again at about 70,000 miles.6) The engine runs very well, has good acceleration, very responsive, no unusual sounds.7) Brakes work well. I think the last time the brakes were serviced was just before I purchasedthe vehicle (about 36,000 miles). They will likely need service soon.8) ABS works great. This is a really nice feature during the winter. I won't buy another carwithout ABS.9) The tires are in good condition. Has Goodyear Allegra tires, installed about 50,000 miles. The fronttires have about 60% tread remaining and the rear tires have less, about 40% remaining. I rotated thetires for the first time last fall (70,00 miles?), front to rear. They are probably good for aboutanother 25,000 miles. They are nice tires, mud and snow rated all season radials. Work well inrain and snow. Never had a nail/puncture in any tire.10) There are floor mats through out the vehicle. The back 2 mats match the carpet (appear to be original),but the others do not match. Front and middle row mats are a slightly different color than the carpet butit is not very noticeable.11) New front struts installed and front end alignment at about 55,000 miles.12) Interior is clean and in good condition except for the carpet (described above). Upholstery isin good shape, no major stains, tears or excessive wear on the seats.13) Exterior is in good shape except for rust near rear wheels (described above) and some bubbles in thepaint on the hood.. There are a few small paint chips in the paint on the leading edge of the hood,normal for a vehicle of this age. Aside from this exterior is in good condition.14) Garage kept. 15) Owner's manual included.The vehicle is available for inspection and test drive.
