Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 1974 Volkswagen Beetle. This car is a classic. I am only selling her because I have relocated to Ireland and cannot justify the crazy importation costs of bringing the vehicle over. I registered her and had her inspected this summer in Austin, Travis county. She passed inspection and is paid through till next summer. The car had been garaged for 4 of the 5 years I owned it (as I was overseas for most of that)... This summer I had the engine serviced, the carb and tank flushed and cleaned. It runs well, and is in good to fair shape. She is also a Triptronic automatic with the clutch in the shifter. This is a rare find. It can be converted back into a normal standard if someone was up for it, kits exist... But for now the transmission is solid, and I've had zero issues with it...it's a blast to drive. I'm including a set of butterfly back windows that can be exchanged for the solid windows in the back, so you can open them to get a breeze. I bought them intending to put them in with my restoration build. It has the normal scratches of an older car but is very clean, no body rust, and a solid floor and side walls (a problem that many bugs face). This is my second bug, and I had grand intentions for her. She is in solid state and a great foundation to make a beautiful restoration with (that's why I bought her...I looked at loads) The car has been repainted at some point and looks good when washed now, and is a joy to drive. The gas gauge sticks a bit, the internal light burnt out on the speedometer, so I have to use a flashlight to see my speed when driving at night, but that can be fixed... The car is located in Austin, Texas near the Domain. The title is free and clear, and I have a friend holding the car for me with a signed title for the right buyer. I am not interested in shipping this car at all, and would prefer a local buyer, but if you wish to pay upfront and arrange your own shipping...we'll see. I paid 3500 for this car 5 years ago, comparable cars listed in local classified are going for 5-6000. Since I bought it, I have done work on it, and the pool of these classics has gone down. My reserve is set for my original purchase price. Jason. Feel free to call with questions. You can dial my Vonage line (rings in Ireland, so be mindful of the time please). 1-801-704-0889 SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY NO SCAMS I'M NOT INTERESTED IN CLOSING THE AUCTION EARLY IF YOU WANT THE CAR, BID FOR IT.
