FULLY DEPRECIATED, THIS IS A SOLID INVESTMENT YOU CAN DRIVE EVERYDAY.Over the years, Volkswagen's TDI (turbo direct injection) Diesel models have developed a reputation for incredible fuel economy and durability. Reports of mileage in the low 50 mpg range are the norm for these models, and it's not uncommon to find one with over 300,000 miles on the odometer. When well cared for, they can go on and on and on.And this one non-smoker owned wagon has been well cared for, to say the least. There are over 21 service records on this car since new, detailing every service and VW Spec oil change at our local VW Dealer since day one. This 2005 Jetta GL TDI Wagon was used for daily inter-city freeway commuting, racking up 107,000 easy miles. How easy? Let's just say that the rear brake pads still have over 40% left and are the originals. It's that sort of driving that is easy on the car's drivetrain and operating systems. The famous 1.9L/100hp/173 lbs.-ft torque 4 cylinder turbodiesel runs smoothly and cleanly, transmitting it's power through a 5 speed automatic transmission that's a perfect match to the engine's torque curve. At 70 mph, it turns over a lazy 2200 rpm, demonstrating 46 mpg on a recent short trip. Yes, we said 46! With a 14.5 gallon tank, that means you could potentially go over 660 miles on one tank of diesel (about 42.00 at our current local price-or just 6 cents per mile!) Finished in Candy White paint that is in terrific condition, (just one tiny "ding" that couldn't be completely removed) and a Pure Beige cloth interior that could pass for new (no kidding.) Everything works (power windows, locks, mirrors, cruise, stereo system, rear defroster, cargo cover, etc, and is in excellent condition. This is an amazing example, especially when you consider that it has covered 107K miles in 5 years! We have not come across many in this shape at 5 model years old, regardless of mileage. A car that has been taken care of always shows! Just because it's frugal doesn't mean you have to skip the safety features--VW's cars are loaded with them standard: 4 wheel antilock disc brakes with Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Electronic Stability Program, Dual Front, Side, and Front and Rear Head Airbags--years before they were required by law! It's the perfect first vehicle for a teenage driver, a thrifty choice for anyone on a limited budget, or the perfect commuter or "third car" to use when you don't need the big "gas hog." When you drive it, you feel good and you feel smart, too. You know, we hate to say it, but it's easy to become spoiled by driving high-end, low mileage, practically new cars, as we often do. That's why this one put a real smile on our faces. Having spent a fair amount of seat time in it, we can say that we never felt "deprived" in any way. Tight, solid, and comfortable, this 2005 Jetta TDI Wagon exudes fine German engineering and German build quality (yes, the 2005 Jetta TDI Wagons were the last ones to be built in VW's famed Wolfsburg plant in Germany.) Now depreciated to about 40% of the price of new, this Jetta will continue to hold its residual value quite well. But, finding one of these great little wagons can be tough--less than 7% of U.S. bound MKIV Jettas were wagons--which pack so much practical function into a compact space--and just a fraction of those were TDI diesels. Enclosed carriers offer protection from weather elements or road debris damage; eliminating the exposure of your vehicle during transit. Also, NO additional mileage is placed on your vehicle. While this is a clear advantage, the disadvantage of enclosed carrier transport is greater cost. However, for high-value, rare, or exotic vehicles, (especially convertibles,) we highly recommend this type of transport. Plus, your vehicle will generally arrive in the same highly detailed exterior condition as when it left our facility. It's important to note that many "shipping" companies are simply brokers and do not actually own their own carriers. These brokers charge a fee, often called a "deposit", to book your transport, and you will be required to pay for the actual shipping cost with a cashier's check at the time of your vehicle's delivery. When accepting a very low bid (one that is well below others), make sure you understand ALL costs and terms, and get a timetable for delivery first! Ask the carrier if the bid is binding.
