Vehicle Detail

Offered for bid is a 1959 Austin-Healey Sprite Mk 1 incomplete restoration. Car has a clear Californi title, but has not seen the road since 1980. I acquired this vehicle as a rolling chassis and installed a rebuilt 1275cc A-Series with a rebuilt web-cased transmission. Car has front disc brakes and four (4) K&N Minilite replica wheels. Front springs are uprated and rears are three-leaf units from Speedwell. Included are three windshield frames (one with glass), two seat frames and backs (backs need rust repair). Also included are Moss Motors seat kits and pads, interior panel kit, and carpet set for a Mk 2 Sprite. Additional items include exterior lamps, new wiring harness, and other electrical equipment, and a new gas tank for an early Spridget, and what appears to be a complete set of body rubber. There is also a Moss Motors reproduction grille, but I'm told that it is not "authentic" and therefore not concours-grade. Missing items include instruments, seat pans, bumpers, and other minor items. Body appears to be rust-free, but shows numerous repaired areas. It does not appear to have ever been in a major accident, but there are numerous minor dents and dings. This car would be a perfect candidate for the restorer with a totally rusted-out Sprite that is otherwise complete. I was going to complete it, but with other car projects, work commitments, and a lack of garage space, it really needs to go to someone with the dedication to get it back on the road. The fine print. Once the auction ends, I like to hear from the winning bidder within three days. A $250US deposit via PayPal will hold the car for thirty (30) days. The buyer is responsible for collecting and transporting the car and all related components. I will crate loose items to prevent damage in transit. The car is in the Los Angeles, California, area and the buyer is welcome to collect the car. Alternatively, I can deliver the vehicle to a local destination for $100 (trailer rental &fuel costs). Final payment will due at the time of collection, in the form of a cashier's check, in U.S. Dollars from a U.S. bank, minus the amount of the intial $250 deposit. At this time the title and a bill of sale will be handed over to the buyer or his agent. As mentioned above this car is NOT complete, so please keep this in mind. I sincerely want the winning bidder to be happy with his/her purchase, and I want to believe that this Sprite will once again see the road. There are no dumb questions, so please ask about any missing or included items before bidding. This vehicle is being sold "as is, where is" and as such, there are no warranties expressed or implied. If you buy it, it's yours, so please know what you're buying. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding!
