I am not the original owner. I bought the car about three years ago. This is a project car I have been restoring in my free time. It has a new battery. The interior is in very good condition for a 1998. The power windows and power seats all work. I replaced the tires about a year ago and they have a lot of tread left on them. The brakes are new ceramic pads. The engine runs very quiet and has a lot of power. The engine does not burn oil. The transmission shifts smooth with no issues. I drove this car to Denver Colorado and back from Richmond VA for business and would not hesitate to do it again. When I bought the car it had been in a fender bender and needed front and rear bumbers, a new hood and trunk lid. I bought good used parts and had a professional auto body shop do the body work. The body is in very good shape with only a couple minor dings. The front hood and trunk lid do not match the original paint. The front drivers side fender has gray primer where I had the body shop repair a small ding. I was going to have the car painted and keep the car as my daily driver. The car has developed two issues. #1. The brake lights stay on all the time. I took it to a local BMW shop and they replaced the brake light switch. I drove the car back to where I park it and noticed the brake lights are still on. #2. The radio and navigation do not work. The repair shop traced the problem to a wiring junction box under the front passenger seat area. The junction box is about $100.00 from BMW. To replace this electrical junction you will need to pull the passenger seat. My job situation has changed and the car just sits. I don't have time to follow up on repairs so I am selling the car "as is" no warranty. Although the car runs and drives just fine, I would recommend the car be towed or transported on a car carrier, etc because of the break light issue. Location is Richmond, VA.
