Vehicle Detail

1978 Corvette. Numbers Matching. Strong running car and a real head-turner. I bought this car about five years ago. I had the intentions of restoring a Vette and re-building it into a little hot rod. I purchased it off of Ebay unseen, and when it arrived I was so pleased by the condition it was in, I decided not to re-build it. I have instead used it as a very reliable second vehicle. It starts every time and runs like a dream. It has the 350 V8 and Muncie carb. It is a four-speed manual. It is a really strong running car and has not been a minutes worth of problem. It is what I drive when my newly bought truck is in the shop. I have taken it to several cruise-ins, and it is always a head turner. The previous owner had completly re-done the interior and it looks great. He also installed a new exhaust system, new brakes, clutch assembly, U-joints, bushings, and many other things that make this car so driveable as-is. I bought the car out of Washington, where they have mandatory inspection and I have those reports as well. I also have all of the receipts of all the work that the previous owner had done to the car. I would drive this car anywhere without fear, and will be driving it this week due to a rear main seal out of my truck. Driving it will put a smile on your face. The vehicle has spent every day garage kept. It is washed often and driven with sense. I will let the pictures talk for themselves, this car is good looking and in really good condition. That being said, this is not a show car. It is a daily driver. There are some rock chips, a few scratches, and the usual spiderweb stressing in the paint, on the front bumper. I have tried to depict those as best I can in the pictures. The original color, I believe, was yellow, but red looks really good on this car. It is a bit of a brandy-wine in color. It needs a piece of weather stripping over the windshield. I have the stripping but have not installed it yet. This particular model came with A/C, but it has had the belt removed. I drive it mostly in fair weather and seldom have the tops in it. As with all 30 plus year old engines, it will lose a few drops of oil over-night but that really is about it. I went all summer and only added one quart, but this car could leave today for any destination and I would have no fear of doing it. The engine is strong. The vehicle comes with glass T-tops. I won't deceive you, they need to be replaced and I am reflecting that in my asking price. After market tops are now pretty cheap though. They both still work, and don't leak in the rain, but they are cracked and will leak in a car wash. I learned it the hard way. If I still have the car next summer, I would also put new rubber on the rear. The fronts are good to go but the rears are getting thin, as can be seen in the pics. All in all, this car could be taken to a cruise in tonight and get a lot of attention, and then drive across country tomorrow. For a few hundred more, this car could be made amazing. But if your intent is just to buy a Vette to drive, you won't find a prettier one anywhere. This car is a gorgeous daily driver or just something to have a little fun in on the weekend. You could leave it alone and have a really nice, dependable cruiser, or for not a whole lot extra, this car could be brought to show quality. I found it just perfect the way it was and decided not to touch it. However, I now have a new baby, and am finding out that my toy stash is disappearing. I am willing to answer any questions and am willing to send more pics as well. I truly believes whoever gets it, is getting a really nice and fun car. I have tried to describe any flaws that the car has and will answer any questions that any bidders have.
