Vehicle Detail
I am relisting this car because the winning bidder backed out the day before he was to pick up the car ! *********Now with a lower reserve!!!********* For Auction is a real nice 1937 Chevy 5 Window Hot Rod Business Coupe. I am selling this car for my son-in-law. Any questions should be directed to him at: 717-250-6439. Let me just say that I have driven this car and it really runs and sounds awesome! Ok, here we go........ Car was bought by his father in 1980 and has been in the family for 30 yrs. Always garage kept! Body is ALL STEEL! Frame is rock solid. Not many left in this condition. All the backbreaking and walletbreaking work is done. Body & Frame: As solid as you'll find. Car was painted in 1985 with navy blue gold-flake paint. It does have some chips and scratches. Flames are decals, just recently added. If you like them, great. If not, they can be easily removed. Suspension: Rear: Leaf springs have been removed. A massive square tubing cross-member connects 2 chrome Koni coil over shocks that connect to the axle housings via a custom "bracket" with multiple settings making it possible to adjust the ride height of the car's rearend. Dual ladder bars with anti-sway bar. Front: Solid front axle has been removed. In its place is a custom double wishbone with Koni coil over shocks. Design influenced by Mustang II and Jaguar designs, featuring rack and pinion power assisted steering. Brakes: Front disc brakes with large powerful Corvette calipers, new pads, and braided flex lines. Rear brakes are rebuilt drums. All fed by a large Corvette master cylinder and stainless steel lines. Transmission: Has a refurbished Turbo 350 automatic with B&M Holeshot stall converter and Lokar shifter. Rearend: Full posi GM. He believes came out of an old Impala. Works Great! Not sure of ratio, it's fairly low, but still enjoyable on the open highway. Motor: LT1 350 Crate Motor. Cranks out 370 h.p. Bought new directly from GM. Only 855 miles on motor. Has an extremely rare and desirable aluminum intake from a late '60's 327 Corvette with a Holley 750 vaccuum secondary carb. ProComp needle bearing rocker arms. Timing chain was replaced with gear drive and polished aluminum cover. Small, light, and powerful NASCAR style starter motor. K&N air and oil filters. Aluminum valve covers with machined flames. MSD EVERYTHING! Holley mechanical fuel pump with pressure regulator and gauge. Chrome streetrod style headers with Hooker polished glass packs and resonator exhaust tips. All cooled nicely with a new custom ordered Griffin aluminum radiator and dual electric fans!!! Misc. Complete Vintage Air a/c & heat installed. Simply needs lines connected, interior louvers installed, and charged. All needed parts included in sale. VDO Heritage Gold Gauges. All new 12 volt wiring and custom fuse panel. Tilt steering column w/ Grant wheel. Centerline AutoDrag wheels with near new tires. New chrome trunk supports. Braided fuel and radiator lines. Electric wiper motor. Polished stainless steel replacement grille (original comes with car). Re-chromed bumpers with new bumperettes. Lokar parking brake. New battery. New rubber running board mats. Current PA inspection and plates. Boxes of misc. parts included in sale. Issues: Paint is not terrible, but has issues and could be redone if you desire a trailer queen. Otherwise, is fine for a driver. Interior is like the paint, if you want a trailer queen, it needs some attention, but again, is fine for a driver. Has a crack in the passenger side wing window and there is some separation in the right rear side window. No radio or speakers. For some reason tachometer is not functioning. Needs bushings at ends of anti-sway bar to prevent "clunking" sound when it "engages"...easy fix. Slight rub from front wheels when making sharp turns. Believe some light grinding on the control arms would resolve this quickly. I feel the reserve price is very reasonable. Don't miss this chance to own a real nice car !! Again, If you have any questons, call 717-250-6439. Thanks.
