1976 Mercedes Benz 300D the 115 chassis are among the most durable, stylish, and sought after automobiles ever produced by Mercedes - Benz. This is an amazing example of one of the limited few that still remain phenominally well preserved. 1976 was the last production year for the 115 chassis. Often referred to as the " million mile motor" this diesel runs absolutely excellent and has been exceptionally well maintained since new. The dependable and durable 3.0 litre, 5 cylinder motor is efficient, smooth and strong. The motor, chassis and engine compartment are clean and dry, and there are no leaks noted. 4 speed automatic transmission shifts timely and proper. Independent suspension is solid and comfortable, steering is tight and responsive. THIS IS A PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR ALTERNATIVE FUEL USE This is a local car with documentation since first purchase The exterior paint is original (grandmas butter) and still shines great, a lil rubbing compund and she would absolutely glow. Sits on 4 Pirelli P235/55ZR 17 (m+s) tires mounted on Konig double star rims (the stock rims, and the original Mercedes logo hubcaps are in the trunk with the original jack and a newer spare tire) Doors are crisp closers and cabin is in great condition, no rips on seats, headliner intact, power windows operate fine All emblems, trim, side markers/lights, headlamps and grill are intact A very dependable car that has been gently used and parked in a garage most of its life. and its not too bad to look at either !!
