Vehicle Detail
This is an very clean and original bodied 1967 VW 21 Window Deluxe bus. This was the last year of the iconic split windshield bus and the only year to come equipped with a 12 volt system. It has survived for the past 43 years with very little alteration. This very clean 21 Window ragtop bus still retains its original Pearl White(L87) factory paint over one respray of the lower Velvet Green (L512). It is incredible how well the paint still shines and how little wear it displays. This bus has never had any welding performed and has never required, nor requires any patch panels. It spent the early years of its life around the Sunnyvale, California area before venturing to Oregon in the early eighties. In about 1988 the second owner freshened up the paint by having the lower Velvet green resprayed. There is only evidence on the right rear corner where any bodywork was performed. They used high quality single stage paint that matches the original color as close as I have ever seen. It does have some bubbling in areas due to trapped mositure but presents well to most hobbyists and looks nearly perfect on first inspection. It is very straight with only a few minor dings. The doors open and shut like new. The floors and rockers almost look as good as when it was new!!!!!!!!! The belly pans are original and have the ever so slight factory overspray still present. The original floor mats are in good condition, but were taken out for photos. This vehicle is turn key mechanically with new brakes all the way around, a low mileage rebuilt freeway flyer transmission installed(original trans comes with it) and a low mileage 1641 dualport motor installed that runs beautifully. On the inside the door panels were replaced at one point. Most are very presentable and functional, however not show quality. The correct rear seats are not installed as they were misplaced 20 years ago and have not been found so far.(They will be included if located). It currently has a full size z-bed installed in the rear. New tires all the way around and the correct date coded wheels were painted a perfect match to the original color of L82-Silver White. All the deluxe exterior trim is present and in great shape. This is one of the nicest unrestored 21 window deluxe buses I have encountered and likely the one of best unrestored deluxe buses currently available. This bus is ready to roll and would only require minor work, capable by any hobbyist, to massage back into an even more incredible piece. Please call with any questions. We can help arrange transportation at the buyers expense. We reserve the right to end the auction at anytime as the vehicle is for sale elsewhere or we may come to our senses and realize we wont find another like it. 541-659-8457 On Oct-03-10 at 15:24:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for all your interest.
