Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1954 F-600 Ford flatbed dump truck. Odometer says 21853 but I'm assuming it's actually 121853. Glove box says 16,000 lbs GVW DOT on door says GW 23,000, two-speed rear end 6.33-8.81, Y-block 8 cylinder either a 239 or 256 with the overhead oiler option, 4-speed manual. Runs, drives and dumps. The tipper system is a huge self-contained hydraulic cylinder that runs off a small drive shaft that is powered from a PTO; there are no hoses. The distance from the back of the cab to the rear axle is 7 feet. Needs brake (one rear cylinder leaks) lighting and other misc work. Please ask for details. Flatbed is wood and has seen better days but I didn't bother replacing it because I was done using it and the next guy who owns it might not even want a flatbed. I have a new set of points to go with it, would have replaced those too but didn't have a dwell meter. Plugs only have a few hours on them. I do have the front bumper and title. Sold as-is. Battery not included. I have been told by an eBay member, who sounds like he really knows his Fords, that it is likely the original motor and a 256. Thanks for the info 54! "The water pump has the 4 bolt pattern, with the high mounted fan. In order for that water pump to on anything other than a 239, or 256, the entire front of the engine would have to be changed..."On Sep-28-10 at 08:35:14 PDT, seller added the following information: The dimensions to put this on a trailer are as follows: 16' from front of front tire to back of rear tire, 88" aprox from outside to outside of rear tires, 20" aprox from ground to bottom of front fenders, flatbed extends aprox 3' past rear of frame. Of course the two outside duals can be removed for more room on a trailer.
