Up for sale is a 1978 Honda CR250R 250cc motorcross race bike. This bike has been raced and has been restored as original. It runs like a scalded dog! She starts on the 1st or 2nd kick and warms up quickly. It shifts through the gears like butter and the power band is incredible to say the least. Superb suspension and handling for a bike of this era. The CR250R Elsinore was sold in 1978 in Tahitian Red. The bike has a single downtube frame and side port exhaust. The engine color also is original red. The gas tank is aluminum. The engine is a 247cc 2-stroke reed valve single cylinder linked to a 5-speed transmission. Engine serial number is CR250RE-1004630. List of new parts: Chain, sprockets, wheel bearings, Top end with Wiseco piston and rings (1 hour on rebuild), throttle, brake cable, tires and tubes, rimstrips, seat cover, kill switch, hand control levers and grips, fork springs and gaiters. Stock rear shocks, complete exhaust with baffle is in very nice condition with no holes or cracks. Original kickstand. With the exception of some rider wear on the tank and sidecovers, this bike is in exceptional condition. You will not be disappointed. This bike needs nothing but a rider with a lot of nerve.
