This is NOT your ordinary 1986 Toyota Supra. It is an ultra low (58,000 mile), very clean, adult owned car that was never abused. People know my son & me for our passion of cars & especially those that are fun & have a history to them. Such is the case with this car. A business associate mentioned to my son that his father bought this car in 1988 as a birthday present to himself for his 50th. He kept it garaged & used it occasionally as his toy car until 2006. He then decided that the insurance & registration were too much to justify his limited use, so he put the car into storage in his garage. My son & I went to his home to take a look, and were blown away by the outstanding condition of this car, even after sitting almost six years. It has never been in an accident & the paint is in incredible shape for being 25 years old. The interior looks great, as the pictures indicate. Having sat for almost 6 years, of course it didn't start. I knew that we would have to put some work into it, but also knew that this car would be well worth the effort. We brought it home & got to work. Although the owner had used Stable in the gas, we drained the tank & put fresh gas in along with changing the fuel filter,engine oil & filter. We then put a new Bosch battery in & cranked her over. She started immediately. I was impressed. I saw that the alternator guage indicated that the alternator wasn't charging, so we installed a newalternator. Before attempting to take her out for it's maiden voyage, I felt it prudent to bleed & change all of the fluids including brakes & clutch resevoirs,coolant,etc. It was now time to take her around the block. Everything worked exactly as it should with the exception of the radio antenna staying up. The A/C blew cold, the radio worked perfectly, the power windows worked as they should. I knew that this would be a great car, but it exceeded my expectations. The only item left for us to address was the original tires as they were now over 25 years old, so we had a set of B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's installed which completed the car. It now drives as well as when it left the dealership way back when. It has a 2.8 litre, 6 cylinder engine with the 5 speed transmission. The motor develops 161H.P. with 169ft.lb. of torque which propels you from 0 to 60mph in 8.4 seconds while getting fuel mileage in the mid 20's around town.Motor Trend Magazine thought enough of this car to award it Import Car of the Year. The car does have some very minor chips that should be expected on any 58,000 mile car. It's biggest flaw would be the mark in the rear decal ( shown in the pics).
