Vehicle Detail

*****PLEASE NOTE: i am listing this car with NO RESERVE so lets try and keep these bids legit please. Anyone willing to make a SERIOUS offer, please leav a phone number to reach you. These auctions cost money and I don't have time to start chasing you. Good luck to all.***** UP FOR AUCTION IS A GORGEOUS LOOKING HOT RED 1966 PONTIAC GTO CONVERTIBLE TRIBUTE CAR WITH SOME VERY RARE POWER OPTIONS AND A KILLER 468CI PONTIAC MOTOR AND 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION!!!. VERY SHARP TURN-KEY CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. Factory options: Power Steering Power DISC front brakes Power convertible top Power seat Power windows Power antenna Standard black bucket seat interior Dual exhaust Functional RAM AIR UPGRADED 5 speed manual transmission UPGRADED 455ci Pontiac motor (bored to 468ci) with Edelbrock aluminum heads UPGRADED 17" TORQUE THRUST STYLE WHEELS (these do NOT come with the car, but can be purchased separately after the auction) 12 bolt rear end This is an older restoration on a pretty solid and straight body. The car started life out as a 1967 Lemans conv, which was transformed into a 1966 GTO Convertible as you can see in the pictures. The previous owner repainted the car sometime during the late 1990s. When I got it, I cleaned up the body with a light wetsand and buff that brought out the luster in the paint. I also put all the correct lower body GTO moldings throughout the car. There has been a lot of suspension and performance work on this car, as the previous owner wanted to have something really out of the ordinary AND RARE at the same time, and judging by the list of power options that this car came with FROM THE FACTORY, it's definitely a keeper. This is a nearly TURN-KEY driver that you can get in and enjoy now with very minor tlc! Under the hood lies a mildly modified 455ci 4bbl. motor with Edelbrock "Performer RPM" aluminum performance heads, Quadrajet 4bbl. carburetor, dual exhaust, aluminum radiator, and some minor internal modifications. Transmission has been upgraded to a 5 SPEED MANUAL and is a lot of fun to drive. Interior is in VERY GOOD condition. Seats have been reupholstered professionally. Door panels are new front to rear. Carpet is older but presentable. Dash pad is decent with some snap-ons on it. Convertible top is excellent and looks nearly new. Steering wheel is presentable (missing center horn piece). Overall a very presentable driver quality interior! Mechanically, the car drives pretty well. I've mostly driven it around town and a few times on the highway and it performs nicely with no surprises. Always starts at the turn of the key, gets decent gas mileage if you drive it normally, and is very easy to drive all those power options. Brakes stop very well. Motor has a lot of power and transmission shifts through all the gears seamlessly without popping out or any annoying synchro noises. Rear end is nice and solid. The car has a nice dual exhaust with side chambers that can be opened up if desired for better breathing and louder sound, which is very cool. Being 40+ year old car, it is NOT perfect my any means. Paint shines up NICELY for a driver, with general small imperfections from driving as you would expect. Undersie has some scaly surface rust here and there but seems to have SOLID FLOORBOARDS and SOLID TRUNK as well as NICE FRAME RAILS. Not working: horn, radio, heater, rear driver's side power window motor needs replacing, perhaps a bulb or two may need replacing, power antenna. Missing: horn center cap, radio, jack. Motor puffs some white smoke when it warms up, which means it will probably need new rings or seals in the near future (keeps good oil pressure and fires on all 8 cylinders). Some minor areas of filler by lower doors, lower fenders and rear lower quarters. Rear inner wheelhouses have some rust. Body lines/gaps could be a little better but they weren't perfect even when new. Front cowl between dash pad and windshield has some rust holes that need patching. That's about all I was able to notice. Trunk lid has a couple of holes that were filled in from previously installed spoiler. Crack in windshield by middle. NEW front shock, coil spring and front end parts yet to be installed but included with the car (only one side done). IT'S A VERY NICE CAR WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DRIVE IT AS IS OR DO VERY MINOR TLC TO BRING IT UP TO THE NEXT LEVEL! THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT CAR IN THIS 1966 PONTIAC GTO CONVERTIBLE TRIBUTE THAT CAN EASILY BE A TURN-KEY PRO-TOURING DRIVER WITH VERY MINOR TLC!.
