Vehicle Detail
there is a lot to put down for this. first INFO: its a 1947 dodge WF-32 flatbed or stake-bed but without the stakes. it has the postwar bed on it with wheel well cutout. when i got the truck it was really solid. one rust hole in the floor and some rot on the windshield. some surface rust although much old original paint was still there. if i could have saved it i would but someone had put a lot of bondo on for some reason it wasn't covering up anything. and had sanded the name of some old business off. there was some paint still on the frame. the frame was very very solid. all of the bodywork was good, no rust no tears of dents. interior was half decent. the seats are pretty good so i kept them and they are currently in the truck. the door panels were rough so i bought a new pair that will come with the truck. the headliner was ripped. everything else is pretty good and you can have that if you want it. about 90% of this truck is original. you know with paint and rebuilds and all that. the engine and tranny were rebuilt when i got the truck. very few miles on the truck. this truck was restored once before i got it so all the brakes were good. i replaced lines etc. front brakes are hooked up. i never got around to the back but im sure they are just as good as the fronts. just need some lines and be bled. hood fenders and front clip were sand blasted. the cab wasn't. the entire frame rear end bed tranny and engine are painted with heavy duty frame paint. the insides of the bed were primed and painted. didn't want to spend a lot on the heavy stuff because i was just going to put the wood planks on again. also it doesn't have the wood planks on the bed yet. i never got around to it. no metal strips go on the truck just planks and carriage bolts. it has good oil pressure and water temp.runs great. steering tires are good. the rears have two worn tires but they work. i have 4 drive tires that can be bought cheap, same tread pattern and great tread no cracks. 7.50 x 20. same as truck. this morning i gave it a little tune up. new rotor condenser and points. its very presentable. now on to what the truck needs. i never did the wiring. i just hooked up a switch from the batt. to the starter. i having some cloth style wiring for the truck. wiring diagrams and help is readily available. i never hooked up the generator ever. i assume it works but cant say for sure its new old stock. this was a really solid truck when i got it in every sense of the word. i never put on the weatherstripping for the windshield. that comes with it. never put on cowl lacing. that comes with it. carb coult be rebuiltit works ok but it could work better have a rebuild kit that comes with it. when someone put the oil canister on they threaded one of the lines wrong and it leaks. its an easy 5 dollar line. bend it and put it in. yes its that simple. so that could be done if you wanted to do it. it pretty much just needs a day or two to do all the crap i dont like to do and never bothered to do. i have parts here and there. i have alot of info on parts and where to get everything you need for the truck if you want my help with that. i bought the truck in PA and it only came with a bill of sale and pa title should be no problem getting it registered. i went down to the dmv and got it insured and put temps on it but never finished so it only comes with a registration and bill of sale and pa title. its a nice presentable truck that you could put a few wires on and work it. or put a sign on it, whatever. i just have alot of other stuff, and more things in mind so this will just sit around and i dont want it to do that. i would rather have this go to someone who will use it for something. i can deliver the truck locally. just ask. if you want to come look at the truck. again just ask.
