1973 TRIUMPH TR6 This car was purchased in October 2005 to refurbish into a nice driver to attend car meets and use as a fun car. I have taken it on numerous car club events, some over 200 miles in length, and it has always been reliable. I have since purchased a 1974 TR6 and do not have room for both vehicles. BODY The original factory paint color was Sapphire Blue (paint code #92) with the Shadow Blue interior. This is rather rare since most Sapphire Blue cars seem to have the Black interior. The car was repainted 2 years ago in Nelson Blue, a Honda color that appears to be the same as the factory color except with metal flake. The paint looks decent, but is not perfect having been done in a home garage. The car had the normal rust issues present in the TR6 but was repaired by previous owners with fiberglass and body filler. All the glass is good but the windshield has wiper wear and a tiny stone chip. Please see the photos of the body. FRAME The frame appears to have never been in an accident. The rear of the box section where the trailing arms attach has had welding repair. The trailing arm brackets have been welded to metal plates on both the right and left sides of the frame. ENGINE/CLUTCH/TRANSMISSION This is not the original engine, but the engine is strong and runs well with good oil pressure and normal operating temperature. It has a ‘CC’ (1971) serial number. There are the normal lubricant leaks on the engine block. The carburetors have been cleaned and have had new carburetor kits installed. The exhaust from the header to the tailpipe is in excellent condition with new exhaust pipes. The transmission is a 4-speed and shifts beautifully. The synchronizers work properly. I installed a new clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing this year. ELECTRICAL All instruments except the gas gauge work. Lights, switches and heater work. The windshield washer does not work. TOP/INTERIOR A new convertible top was installed in 2008 and is in excellent shape. The carpeting and foot panels are Black and were replaced in 2008. The door and interior panels are the original Shadow Blue. The seats are the original Shadow Blue color and are in decent shape with some cuts low on the side near the floor and a small cut in the passenger headrest (see photos). A matching Shadow Blue convertible boot top cover goes with the car. Sun visors are in great shape TIRES/WHEELS The tires are new Yokohama Avid Touring S, size 205/70R-15, Tread wear 620, Traction ‘A’, Temperature ‘B’ Speed Rating ‘S’. The wheels are freshly painted steel and have hub caps (see photo).
