Vehicle Detail

1954 BENTLEY. was last used very gently about three years ago as a wedding car, it was a hit! the owner had medical problems and the car was parked. he never did recover and i bought this one along with several other`s which i am keeping. it took all of five minutes to get this old girl running again even with stale gas, talk about a user friendly car to work on. i have driven it around a large parking lot and it did just fine, good power from the engine and the transmission shifted very smoothly. the old car starts right up first time every time and after a couple of minutes it smoothes out. the car would benefit greatly from a thorough service and a good tune up, and of course a gas tank flush and fresh gas. i left it running for a half hour and it did`nt even get close to running hot, i dropped it in drive and it took off as nice as you please. the underneath of the car is surprisingly solid but as you can see from the pictures there is some bodywork needed on the bottoms of the doors, a weekend project to fix in my opinion. the pictures speak volumes but please email with any questions or if you need pictures of anything specific. the swing out trafficators work just fine and light up and even the remote control rear window blind works from the drivers seat! the interior is how you see it, nice and tight seat covers, door panels et cetera and the acres of woodwork is really decent but could use some new varnish, not a big deal at all. the interior is redone in vinyl but its a nice job. there are two small tears on the front seat which i think could be fixed easily and cheaply, or just leave em as is. BTW i do have ANOTHER REAR BUMPER BLADE that is in way better condition and it will go with the car. i omitted pictures of under the hood and in the trunk for the simple reason that the body and interior are the things of most importance and ebay only give you 12 picture spaces. under the hood is original and clean, its NOT a big oily mess and everything is where it should be. the inside of the trunk is really good, there is no rust and its nice and dry and clean. this auction is no reserve so bid to win, then go make REALLY GOOD money on weekends doing weddings, proms, anniversaries et cetera. the car will pay for itself in six months if you play your cards right. i have a CLEAR TITLE IN HAND. the car goes nowhere until i am satisfied funds are good, but you can pay anyway you want. you will have to pay a $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT THROUGH PAYPAL at the auctions end. i will only take the deposit by paypal, the balance has to be cashiers check, wire transfer or cash in person at pick up. delivery MY be available depending on where you are located. OVERSEA`S SHIPPING IS NO PROBLEM AT ALL. the boat from charleston to england and europe leaves every sunday and takes about 10 days. drive on drive cost is about $900. i do have a rolls royce grill that i am sure will fit this bentley. the winning bidder will get the chance to buy it at auctions end. but the GRILL DOES NOT GO WITH THIS AUCTION. i hope that is plain enough and understood. good luck y`all. On Sep-18-10 at 04:42:57 PDT, seller added the following information: in answer to a few questions, here goes. to harry in TX. yes i have clear title in hand and it states 1954 bentley. sorry but i`m not interested in trading your `08 harley. to limolenny. i charge $400 for a 2 hour minimum and after that its $165 an hour but it rarely goes over the 2 hours. average take during spring and fall wedding season is $2,500 to $3,000 per weekend. i think if you did a stretch on this car it would look stupid, it would make the car a novelty item and take away from its bentleyness! not interested in your lincoln stretch but thanks anyway. to jack in LA. the rockers panels, the bit you step on getting in and out are SOLID, you can jump up and down on them! to peter in Va. the headliner is all good. and the wood veneers are good, its just the varnish that is a bit dull. to omar in miami. the extra rear bumper that goes with the car will need rechromed and one small repair but it is straight. and yes the hubcap tool is in the trunk. delivery to miami is $350 according to my transport guy. to mikey in chicago. yes all the windows roll up and down just fine and all the glass is good. the automatic transmission was fitted at the bentley factory its not some 'hot rod deal' as you put it and it works just fine. the tires are all good and yes it has a spare. delivery to the chicago burbs is $325. to kstyles. the picnic trays in the rear are in nice condition but the varnish is a bit dull as already stated. i don`t see why it needs to 'cost the national debt' to revarnish the wood. if you can put up a ceiling fan then you can take the wood out of this car and revarnish it. just go to the library and get a DIY book on it, you can do the whole job on your kitchen table. its time consuming but it ain`t rocket science! to tom in ft. walton beach. the engine is a 4.5 straight six with dual carbs and these engines are about bullet proof. the engine is low compression and pump gas is fine, i`ve never had any problems using regular unleaded. parts are easy and just about EVERYTHING is available off the shelf from the main dealer in zionsville indiana. delivery to FWB is $250. to richeyrich. sorry but you are wrong on the doors, they are STEEL not aluminum. only coachbuilt MK VI`s and R types, mulliner, james young et cetera had aluminum doors and bodies. so yes these doors are WAY EASIER to fix. i would sandblast em along the bottom edge, they are not that bad at all. i`ll get you a quote to ship to san diego. On Sep-24-10 at 06:22:30 PDT, seller added the following information: more questions. to mark from sidney australia. shipping a 20 ft container is $3225 and a 40 ft is $4170, these are USD. the exhaust is quiet and the car starts right up first push of the button so the auto choke is obviously working correctly. i haven`t driven her at speed, max i`ve done is 35MPH but she felt OK at that with good power. she will keep up with modern traffic no problem and be a great 'starter car' in the wedding biz as you put it. to anthony from england. i really don`t know what color she was originally but the RROC can tell you if you give them the VIN, B18ZY. if she is worth $30,000 in england then keep bidding!! LOL. to benny in NJ. yes the brakes work, as i have stated i have driven her at 35MPH which i would have to be a mad man to do with no brakes. but i DON`T know what shape the shoes, drums, wheel cylinders are in as i haven`t taken the brakes apart. so fear the worst and bid accordingly is my advice. to lawrence from sidney australia. if you want to get into the wedding business this car would be a great start! i also have a white RHD 1956 bentley S1 that needs work if you want to do a 40 footer which makes sense. i can put that on ebay with a buy it now price if you like, i`ll email you pictures of it. to brandon in MO. the title is clear and i don`t see any problem at all titling the car in any state.
