This car is a 1929 Shay Model A Roadster replica built in 1979. IT IS NOT A KIT CAR. These cars were built in 1979 - 1980 (titled as a 1979) and was a 50th Anniversary tribute to the original 1929 Model A. Harry Shay, a GM engineer, contracted with Ford to supply a Ford Pinto 4-cylinder engine, automatic or manual transmission and a Ford rear end for the drivetrain, this Shay has a MANUAL Transmission. The Custom steel frame supports a fiberglass body and fenders with a rumble seat, and painted steel cowl hood. The car has a folding soft-top with side curtains. These cars also have a non-power front disc and rear drum 4 bolt brakes, 18 x 5.5 tube-type bias-ply wide whitewall tires, non-power rack and pinion steering, floor-mounted pull-up emergency brake and front coil and rear leaf spring suspension. The engine ignition system is controlled by a Ford Duraspark ignition module. It comes with a spare tire, seat belts, and has an A-ooohga horn on the drivers side. This vehicle has been kept covered and garaged. The tires are the original tires which are not weather checked. The interior consists of a vinyl-clad bench seat and rumble seat that are in excellent condition. Carpeting is also in excellent condition. This car has only 14090 actual miles.
