Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 1984 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, gold in color with a tan interior, has a relatively low reserve and will go to the highest bidder. This is a great car for someone that wants to own a classic. The car is in good condition overall, with some paint damage. I purchased this car in 2005 and it has been used sparingly during the last five years, only for special occasions, concerts, and Vegas. If you want to turn some heads, drive into Vegas in a Rolls! Space and economics now dictate that I must part with this classic motor car, as our children moved back in with us and we don't have room for 6 cars! This car runs good, has no mechanical issues that I am aware of other than those listed below. The interior is in good shape, but the exterior has some peeling paint on the roof (see pictures). The front seat cushions have been restored with real nice leather and accents, the transmission has been worked on, and the car has been maintained well since I got it. The engine does have oil leaks, mainly around the pan gasket, but not serious ones (don't let anyone tell you that an older British car does not have leaks... they all do). The windows, door locks, mirrors, air conditioner and seats all work fine. It has a good sounding aftermarket stereo with CD player. The interior is what you would expect in a Rolls, headliner, rear seats, original carpeting and the doors are in good condition. All the wood is great, especially on the doors, except for a crack on the dashboard above the speedometer. The issues with the car are the paint on the roof and the hood, the windshield wipers, and the hydraulic suspension. I kept the car covered, and apparently that rubbed on the hood and caused peeling on the roof in the crevices. The windshield wipers are inoperable, requiring replacement of the plastic drive gear in the washer drive motor (Why RR used a plastic gear is a mystery to me). The hydraulic suspension has a small leak at the rear shocks, several drops of mineral oil after it is driven, but not really noticeable. The front seats show wear and cracking on the seatbacks, but the cushions have been restored. The title shows as salvage. The restorer I bought the car from fixes Rolls Royces for a living, and indicated that the rear of the driver's side had been hit by the back door and rear quarter panel, and due to it's age at the time, had been declared a total loss. Door lines are good, and there is no indication of an accident. Door jambs meet solidly and do not leak, trunk does not leak, gas fill door operates and does not show signs of damage. Also included in this sale are two car covers, the original sales brochure for the Silver Spirit put out by Rolls Royce (a collectors item), and the repair and maintenance manuals on CD, showing part numbers, repair procedures, etc. I also have two spare bottles of mineral oil for the brakes and the suspension. This car is being sold "as is" and without warranty. Before buying, make sure all your questions are answered. Pre-purchase on-site inspections can be done by appointment only. Do not bid on this car if you have no intention of buying it. If full payment is not received within seven days of auction close, deposit will be forfeit and car will be relisted.
