Here we have a 1955 Desoto Fireflite V8 - first year of the Hemi. Completely original unrestored as is and in very good condition for a 55 year old car. All chrome and emblems are there and are in fair, good and excellent condition. Engine is nice and strong, transmission shifts well and brakes stop the car as they should. Original 6 Volt system still in place, and operate all gages and lights of which are operable. Radio light ges on but no sound, and clock holds accurately the time. About the only item not original would be the paint, painted some time ago but it was done very nicely. I've owned the car for about 10 years, in this time I've driven her only in the summer for approximately 200 miles, to local car outings and sunday breakfast. In storage, I start her up once a month sometimes once every 2 months. I pump the gas pedal and once I see gas in the see through gas filter I turn the key and she starts up, after this she'll start with the turn of the key. Exterior - (Chrome, paint emblems) fair to excellent, Some pieces will need to be re-finished but still shows nicely. Interior - Good - No sagging on the headliner but it's aged, original carpet, seats good, threads on back of drivers seat coming undone, dash will need to be refinished, along with door panels. All there and original and I was never embarrassed to drive and show as is. Engine - Excellent - 6 Volt, generator nice and strong, trans shifts smoothly, and power brakes stop the car. Some oil sipage but no puddles. Trunk - Good - Again, all original spare jack and mat. Spare parts go with the car. Rust - No rust holes any where, and nothing in hiding waiting to be discovered. Overall a very nice car to drive as is and restore as you go, this is what I do to all my cars, I make sure I can enjoy as I work on them. My reserve is set at what I originally paid for the car 10 years ago, financial hardship has force the sale of this and many other cars and items.
