1998 VW Jetta TDI VW Jetta in good condition for year. Hard to find this year range in this condition. Even though car has 221000 it has had complete lower mileage engine and trans installed. At 210000 the original engine was getting hard to start cold. Found it was in need of rebuild due it was starting to lose compression. I found a wrecked car with only 90000 miles so I swapped out complete engine including transmission. Replaced with new timing belt and water pump. New battery and rebuilt altenator. Also replaced intercooler . Replaced ECM. Cleared carbon from intake. New windshield. Paint is shinny with only a couple of small faded spots of clear coat . There are couple door dings but almost not noticable. Interior in good condition with some wear to drivers seat. All switchs and lighting works. Tires have 60 to 70% tread left. the 96 to 98 jetta's are by far the best built Vw had built by far. Solid road huging little cars and a fun to drive with fuel mileage in 40 MPG average. Engine light comes on with code for mapp sensor. I replaced the sensor along with turbo solenoid as well as intercooler also did a smoke test with no leaks and still has the check engine light. Being I had to replace the original ECM I think the replaced ECM is locked with engine code and do not know how to clear it. Does not cause a problem with inspection and the car runs and starts with no problem. Located Nevada TX about 40 miles NE of Dallas.
