Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1971 corvette that I purchased less then a year ago to build with my dad. Because of uncontrolable circumstances we have not had a huge amount of time to work on it and won't in the near future so I am offering it up for sale. The car has a clear arizona title. The odometer reads 53039, I have no idea if that is actual mileage. The car has very little rust. The frame has no rust through spots or anything, a few spots of suface rust starting is all, nothing a vehicle that is only 7 or 8 years old would have. It also looks like the very back crossmember has been replace on the car I can tell from the non factory welds but everything else looks like it should and look decent underneath. The only significant rust is on the inside under the dash there is a small hole at the bottom of the a pillar by the door hinge on the inside. It can very easily be reaired or gets covered up. Te car originally came with the 270 hp 350 i beleive but the previous owner told me this was an lt1 motor a 72 I beleive placed in the car of a later year, with a different year heads on it. The motor had been just rebuilt before it was installed, as was the turbo 400 transmision. The owner also told me that any wearing suspension parts were replaced along with any wearing brake parts that required attention. I did notice they have a bit of surface rust starting to accumulate on them just a little nothing really serious. A new front clip has been glued on and the door jambs cut in the original color. The cut ins are very nice, not show stopping nice but a very very good driver quality cut in. The engine compartment looks to have been recently painted and detailed with the engine, and new hoses have been installed and I have a quality set of new plug wires for the car. A new front valance is also included with the vette. The headlights have been rebuilt, and I tracked down and purchased all of the wiper door and cowl panel pieces. A new steering ram, and hoses has also been installed. The front part of the frame looks to be painted very nicely. 99 percent of the parts are included with the vette, the parts I know I am missing are a front windshield, ac parts are missing, compressor, evaporator, and condensor are gone but I have all the duct and box stuff. I have all the chrome pieces and such most is in good driver quality and a few pieces have a few pits in them. I have 3 of the trim rings and hub caps, and the car needs a full gasket kit. A full vacum line kit is inlcuded with the car. I also have the paint to spray the outside, sherwain williams top of the line paint system. A new gas tank has also been installed. Like I said 99 percent of the parts are inlcuded and most are in good shape, the dash pad is a little rough but the seats and door panels and other stuff is deffenently usable. I also have an exhaust kit for the car I was told it was new and has just been sitting and aquired some surface rust while sitting. Anything I have for this car goes with it, I loaded up a full bed to a truck my back half of my extended cab, and the entire car when I picked it up so come prepared. The car has no spark plug wires hooked up, and the brakes are not blead yet. So it would be best to have a winch. If it is a huge problem I can probably get the brakes and motor running to drive up on a trailer for you, but ask first to make sure I have time. If you are going to ship I may be able to set you up with a family member that has a trailer and can deliver but email me first. The car could be an awesome weekend car with a little bit of body work and paint, and some assembly and you can have a 71 vette cheap, keep in mind this is a project car. On Aug-26-10 at 09:03:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve Is 3600, and the car now runs and drives and brakes in order to load on a trailer.
