Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1972 Jeep CJ5. My apologies to those who were interested in this Jeep when I last had it listed. After making a video of how it drives I parked it than later went to move it and could not get it started so ended the auction until I could find the problem. Was on the road all last week and didn't have time to check it out until this morning. Somehow the timing got off but is running fine now. I purchased this Jeep in August 2007, since than I've Installed an RV cam, max torque idle-3000 rpm, HEI, Rebuilt power steering gearbox, tie rod ends and steering damper. 3 1/2 " lift, new shocks and 4 wheel alignment, new ball studs (ball joints) and u-joints on front axel. New brake shoes and wheel cylinders and replaced all the brake lines (both hard and soft) and water pump. 65 amp alternator, battery and starter solenoid. Instrument cluster but the fuel and temperature gauges do not work and I haven't corrected that yet. New amp and oil pressure gauges, new wiper motor, headlight switch seats and 5 point racing harnesses. Jeep rides on 35x12.50R15 Goodrich Mud Terrain tires mounted on aluminum rims, tires are well worn. Edelbrack aluminum intake with a 650cfm Edelbrack carburator on a 401 AMC engine. Internals all looked like new when I replaced the camshaft, no sludge or carbon deposits at all. Lockable center console, AMC Tach (backlight is not working) Warn locking hubs, Hurst shifter. Until last week this CJ has always started with a very small amount of cranking after setting the timing (mostly by ear as my 25 + year old timing light fell apart when I hooked it up) it's been starting as before. Cold idle oil pressure is 60 psi at 3000 rpm it's 65-75psi hot or cold. Engine runs great, tranfer case works well. Jeep tracks straight you can take your hands off the wheel and it will continue in a straight line on flat pavement. FOR THE NEGATIVES not already mentioned Rust has done conciderable damage to the body, a good body man could rebuild it, I'd have to replace at least the tub. The frame is solid but has heavy surface rust. The tires are really to big for this amount of lift and short wheelbase but they are pretty well worn anyway. The miserable squirrels around here have been ripping up the seats for nesting material. I'm not sure what the transmission came out of, it's not a 1972 Jeep top loader but has the linkage on the side. Does not hold second gear when you back off the throttle, don't know if it's a linkage adjustment or an internal problem. One of the rims looks like it has scraped a curb. Needs headers old ones are rusted out at collectors. I've tried to include as much information as I could, but please ask if you have any questions. I'll try to answer promptly but usually can only check once a day when I'm on the road. THANKS for looking.
