AMAZING Original California Survivor 1978 Westfalia VW Bus. ORIGINAL SAGE GREEN PAINT! Unrestored and BEAUTIFUL! Offered for 5 DAYS WITH NO RESERVE. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own an ORIGINAL, UNRESTORED, SURVIVOR 1978 Volkswagen Westfalia California blue plate bus in beautiful original condition. I’m listing this for a friend. This 1978 Volkswagen Westfalia was purchased new in the California where is been preserved for the last 31 years. The original exterior looks amazing for being 31 years old and still wearing 85% of its original Sage Green Paint. It’s been stored in the garage most of its life. The interior is amazingly clean and nice. It’s SUPER solid throughout. True millage is unknown. Good news is that it’s all original and untouched. The bus has its correct 2.0 fuel injected engine rebuilt with 40k miles and runs, drives, stops, and shifts great. It always commands smiles, respect, and peace signs. This is a rare opportunity to own a 1978 Volkswagen Westfalia Bus in its original condition. Keep in mind this is NOT a restored bus. This is an absolute time capsule, which is rarely offered for sale. A 1978 Volkswagen Westfalia wearing its most desirable original Sage Green paint is simply PRICELESS in this condition. This is the bus no money could create. It is only ORIGINAL once. A restored one is great if you can get the right individuals to properly restore it. The cost to restore a bus properly today is quite expensive, not to mention the amount of time it takes to complete it. There are few hands capable of building a high quality bus, not to mention if they will be using original parts or reproductions due to the availability, time constraint, and cost. Whomever ends up with this beauty will have, by far, one of the nicest ORIGINAL 1978 Volkswagen Westfalia’s at any event. The bus runs and drives great. One key works all the doors, just as it should. It has undergone all necessary mechanical needs to create and preserve it to its highest potential. One can buy this bus and be very confident of the originality. I have not seen another example like this for sale come up for years. Each time I look at these pictures, I cannot believe this bus is 31 years old and unrestored. How many buses have you seen in this condition after 31 years? 1978 is one of the most desirable years for Volkswagen Westfalia’s because of the full double bed in the Pop Top which sleeps 2, and the rear z-bed which sleeps 2, along with the powerful 2.0 liter engine and the smart and convenient layout of the sink and cabinets. This 1978 Volkswagen Westfalia is SUPER SOLID; it has a very straight body for being 31 years old and untouched. It has a few small dings, nics, touchups, and small areas that were re-sprayed over the years which is hard to detect. The veneer on the cabinets is peeling which is common for being original and 31 years old. This is what gives it the character it sports today. Again, this is an unrestored vehicle so it has minor blemishes throughout. The previous owner had the front seats recovered a few years back. The original Pop Top canvas was replaced 3 years ago. Tires have less than 5k miles on them. All of the interior factory decals are intact. All gauges work properly. Good news is all the floors, rockers, and doglegs are SOLID and untouched. You will be HARD-PRESSED to find another like this one. It’s currently registered and comes with a clear California title. Now is your chance to own one of the finest original 1978 Sage Green Westfalia’s offered For Sale. All overseas buyers are welcome. I can assist with international shipping.
