NO RESERVE AUCTION - HIGHEST BIDDER OWNS IT Very clean and 99% rust free 1997 Mercury Tracer Wagon. This is a small, front wheel drive, wagon similar to the Ford Escort. I am the second owner, although the first owner gave it to her son, so the records may show 3 owners. My family is the second owning family, put it that way. I have a clean, clear title, in my name, in my hand. $50 NON REFUNDABLE deposit required within 48 hours of auction end either by PayPal or cash in person. Vehicle pickup must be within 7 days of auction end, or clearing of payment, whichever comes last, unless arrangements are made and full payment is received. THE GOOD Very clean inside and out. Power windows (three work), power door locks (all work), remote keyless entry with two fobs, three keys, remote starter (fob for starter was lost but can be replaced for $25 if you really want it) tinted windows all around, tilt steering wheel, power side mirrors, fog lights, fold down split rear seat, AM/FM radio works nice, good brakes. Very little, barely noticeable rust. Tires have 50+% wear left. Matching pairs of tires. No rips, tears or other problems with the interior. Transmission shifts smoothly. Car was giving 30 - 35 mpg. Fairly new battery, recently tuned with new plugs and wires. Very nice little wagon with great carrying capacity. Nice roof rack for that extra cargo. Comes with a retractable cargo cover in the back "what the eyes can't see, the heart can't want". Car is 100% complete, no missing parts. There are no known problems with the car, except as noted below. THE BAD Car will start, but does not run. Will need to be towed away. It was running fine until it developed a lower engine noise. I was told it was the starter hitting the flywheel, but, I don't really think it is that simple (SEE BELOW). Because of this, I am selling it "for parts only", with no guarantees or warranties. It is a great car for a fixer upper, very solid body and interior. A few light scratches on paint, not deep and not rusty. No dents on body, but one paint peel spot on hood and a few scratches on front bumper. Two VERY small rust areas over the right rear wheel well lip. Rust is just coming through the paint in two areas, each not more than 1" x 1". There is a small dent in the middle of the liftgate, but the gate works flawlessly. A/C blows warm.
