Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a restored Cummins Diesel Powered 1982 AMC Jeep CJ-7. -This Jeep was built from ground up in 2005 with the diesel conversion in 2008 (engine, transmission, radiator, charge air cooler, etc). The mileage is approximately 20,000 total since 2005, 10,000 of which were after the diesel conversion. -The tub is an all steel 1987 YJ tub from AZ (absolutely no rust or bondo) that was modified to fit a CJ tailgate and moved the filler hole to the appropriate side. The body was painted professionally at a local body shop with PPG paint to the original E1 color code for the vin and the fenders and tub were fitted with TJ style flares. The tub was also Rhino-lined at the local dealer both inside and underneath with a 1" carry over around the bottom of the tub. The jeep has a full soft top and matching full-hard doors. The top is a 5 year old Bestop with normal wear, but still looks fresh and seals the jeep completely from the elements. The firewall is insulated for sound and heat. The two front fenders have one ding in them each and the hood has one slight dent in it where someone flipped it up onto the windshield frame while it was parked to look under the hood. With the exception of a few small imperfections in inconspicuous places (a small chip where the seat belt hit the door frame, a chip under the headlight hidden by the headlight ring and a couple of others that I'm sure are there), the paint is as waxable as a new car. I also have a pint of the PPG paint used during the restoration, with the color code and formula printed on it so it can be touched up if you so desire. For the age, model and purpose of the vehicle, the body and paint are considered to be in excellent condition. -The frame is original, chemically stripped and professionally painted and sprayed inside and out for rust prevention. It has 2x4x.25" bumpers mounted front and rear with rocker guards attached to the body and center body mount on the sides. The radiator and aftercooler are frame mounted so that the grill and front fenders can be removed without draining fluids or disconnecting hoses. The duel flex-a-lite fans are also frame mounted. The frame was resprayed in 2008 when I did the diesel conversion. -The axles (also chemically stripped and professionally painted) are stock Dana 60r and 44f with 4.10 gearing and locking hubs on the front. The drive shafts are Tom Woods and I have never had any issues with them whatsoever. The tires are 37" Goodyear MT's stopped with hydroboost powered disk brakes front and rear. -The suspension is a 4" YJ Rubicon lift with a shackle reversal and 1" poly body mounts. -The engine is a stock Cummins 3.9 liter 4bta (model year 1995) with p-pump injection, stock turbo, 3" down pipe to 4" exhaust, custom 3/8" thick steel motor mounts which utilize the front and center block mounts of the engine along with fluid filled isolators. The p-pump is the preferred high pressure fuel pump for Cummins enthusiasts as it is extremely cheap to adjust for power. -Transmission is a 5-speed NV4500 with approximately 10k miles on it. -Transfercase is a Dana 300 clocked flat with a 4:1 conversion and twin stick shifters (shifters not currently installed because I didn't have the heart to cut into the virgin floor to mount the t-case shifters after doing the diesel conversion but will include them in the sale). -The wiring is a 1995 YJ harness, YJ Dash, LED front turn signals with clear lens 'bug-eyes' headlamps. All the gauges are fully functional except for the tachometer. An auxilary tachometer could easily be added by running a lead off of the "R" terminal on the alternator or to keep a factory dash look, an aftermarket 3 3/8" tach and speedo housing is available for the YJ dash for $50 plus the price of the two gauges. It was never big enough of an issue for me because the engine is still governed at 2500 RPM, well below potentially damaging RPMs for that engine. There are many other things to list, and can do so upon further request. I love the jeep and drive it every sunny day. It is garage kept and I don't drive it in the mud or the snow. It gets great fuel economy (est 18-25) and turns heads around town. It can go anywhere on or off road safely and has never let me down. With a front track bar, proper steering geometry and more than adequate brakes, this is as easy to drive as a stock wrangler. This is a blank slate with a solid foundation for anyone who would want to drive it as is, build a trail rig or build a road warrior. Please don't waste my time or yours as only serious inquiries will be addressed. It would be difficult to build a factory steel vintage jeep this level of quality for anything close to this. Please feel free to ask for any specific pictures. The winner of the auction must pay a $1,500 non-refundable deposit of the winning bid within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Payment in full due 7 days after the auction ends or upon pickup depending on which comes first. Will consider delivery on a case by case basis. Using the buy it now option requires immediate payment in full. Thank you and happy bidding!
