Vehicle Detail
Relist due to silly scammers who think I was born yesterday. :) I am selling my baby of the past 11 years (got a company vehicle and don't have the parking space). I am the second owner of this SHO, and as you can tell from the comprehensive lists below, I care for and am quite involved with my vehicles. It has been my daily driver, and still runs very reliably. Engine spins smooth and very strong all the way up to the 7,000 rpm red-line. Unfortunately, I had a minor fender-bender earlier this year. The only remaining effects that can be seen from this is still a creased hood lip and front tip of the right quarter panel. No frame damage. Also the OEM bumper replacement is still primer black. I had planned to have the entire car re-painted as I had still been planning to keep it for a long time. The new company car has changed all that tho. My loss, your gain. All tags, registration, and plates are current. I hold the title, and even tho there was the minor incident, it is still clean-- not salvaged or scrapped. Specs: - 1993 green Ford Taurus SHO MTX. ~163,000 miles. - VIN # 1FALP54Y8PA221605 - Powered dual leather seats (driver and passenger), automatic lights, programmable climate control. - Sun + moon roof (works with no problems) - Always called the ultimate sleeper sedan. This car will seat 4 adults, and it will also stand up and go. - Considerably clean for its age. Has been my daily driver for 11 years. I take pride in my cars. - I have changed oil every 3,000 miles. - AC works great, has been converted from R12 to run Autofrost. I have 2 extra 12oz cans and a fill hose. - Typically gets 26 mpg on long trips, 20 mpg when combining "fun" driving around town as well. - All the factory speakers have been replaced. Alpine Type-R 6x9" in the back and Alpine Type-S 6.5" in the front. - The factory sub has been replaced with a JL AUDIO 8" subwoofer. - The factory amp has been replaced with a Planet Audio 600w and the system is configured so that all 600 watts are used. - The factory head unit has been replaced with an Aiwa CDC-MP3 with CD, MP3, and accessory input port. - This car has lived its entire life in Houston and Victoria TX, so practically zero rust issues (there are some rust bubbles under the window seals) - It has never been flooded-- neither from Tropical Storm Allison or from anything else! :) Performance mods: I have installed almost every bolt-on upgrade available-- - aluminum under-drive pulley set by SHO SOURCE. (replaces accessories pulleys, not the harmonic balancer) ($200) - re-enforced front and rear engine mounts by SHO NUT. (can no longer get this front mount) ($300) - aluminum sub-frame mounts by SHO NUT. ($100) - front suspension high-performance bushings by Moog. ($50) - big-bore butterfly kit by SHO SOURCE. ($190) - ported and polished and painted stage 2 intake runners by SHO SOURCE. ($350) - high-flow Y-pipe with cats by Magnaflow. ($300) - cat-back exhaust system by Dynomax. ($300) - 80mm MAF + CAI + K&N cone filter by SHO SOURCE. (can no longer get) ($200) - LPM (Lifetime Performance Module chip) tuned by SHO SOURCE to take advantage of all the installed mods. ($185) - zero-slop shifter linkage. - I have over $2000 invested into the performance upgrades alone. With these mods on this SHO, the estimated output is around 270hp. Maintenance performed and parts replaced at 130,000 miles- - new matched fuel injectors. - timing belt. - valve lash. - spark plugs. - spark plug wires. - upper intake and valve cover gaskets. - water pump. - radiator. - thermostat. - AC evaporator core. - AC heater core. - crank and cam position sensors. - front main seal. - transmission clutch. - AC compressor clutch. - front wheel bearings. - windshield. Fender-Bender incident-- No airbags deployed. Did not need towing. Parts affected: - front bumper reinforcement structure. - front bumper cover. (is what most people call the "bumper") - headlamp mount panel. - 5mph absorber right bracket. - front right lip of hood. - tip of front right quarter panel. - right headlamp - fog lamps Parts replaced after this incident: - new front headlamp mount panel. - new front headlights and turn signals on both sides. - new front bumper cover, primer black. New parts installed in the past year: - ignition module w/lifetime warranty. - alternator. - hood struts. - tires all around. - brake pads all around. - front rotors. - vacuum and coolant hoses. - front struts and mounts. - rear struts. - steering tie-rods. Current problems/issues: - leaks ~1qt of oil per 3k oil change, mostly from the front main seal. - leaks coolant, low light comes on about every 3k, mostly from a leak in an obscured fitting on the radiator. - leaks one 12oz can of AC coolant per year. - ABS system self-check fails (light stays on). Code says "bad wheel sensor". Brakes still work with ABS disabled. - hard to start once in about ten starts. Will always start, just has to crank longer these rare times. - reverse synchro is worn, but easy to compensate for. - head liner in the cabin has cuts in it, and sunroof louver cloth covering has mostly all come off. - seats are worn, especially driver seat with some thin spots in it. - body has some scrapes, nicks and dings in it. - passenger side rear view mirror housing has been tweaked out, but still operates and adjusts fine. - driver side window has a vertical scratch in it. - front passenger side window moves slowly - rear windows will not go up sometimes, issue with switches. - cruise control does not work, issue with the switches in the steering wheel. - some of the weather stripping around driver door and trunk is worn and torn. - small rust bubbles forming under the window seals. No Reserve!!! Car is ready to drive anywhere. But, if you need to have it shipped to you, you will need to arrange that. I will help where I can.
