Up for auction is a well documented one owner 1965 Mustang A-Code coupe. This Mustang was built in San Jose and sold new on October 23, 1964, at Truman A. Harris and Son Ford in Paso Robles, California for $2740.02. It remained in Paso Robles with the original owner its entire life. Unfortunately it was badly damaged last year in an accident and the original owners chose not to repair it. Fortunately the car does not have a branded title and given its history, originality and documentation deserves to be back on the road. As mentioned the car is an A-Code 289 with a 3 speed transmission. The original motor was replaced in 2000 (at 147,810.3 miles) but was kept by the original owner and included with the auction. The current motor was running at the time of the accident but has not been started since (for obvious reasons to include damaged oil pan, radiator, fuel pump and timing chain cover). The car still retains its original Wimbledon white paint and light blue interior. It is evident by looking at both the interior and exterior of this car, and getting past the body damage, that it was well cared for. The bad, the accident! As you can see the damage extends up into the passenger’s side firewall. Both doors will need to be replaced as will several suspension parts on the passenger’s side of the car. The damage to the front end is very apparent in the pictures – Pretty much everything on the passenger’s side must be replaced and the frame will require straightening. I do have access to a complete front clip that includes all the suspension parts, frame rails and fender aprons. If that is something I can make it available for an additional amount. The good, an original one owner California A-code coupe with NO RUST. The floor boards on this car are unbelievably clean with no rust as are the quarters, truck and surviving front fender. Included with the car are the original owner’s manual, Owner’s card, original “PINK” slip, window sticker and sales receipt as well as years of receipts (and the original 289 as mentioned earlier). Also included is an oil pan, fuel pump, radiator and other odds and ends. It is getting tough to find Mustangs that have not passed from owner, to owner, to owner each hiding sins or damage/wear/tear from the past. With this Mustang you get one Owner and nothing hidden.
