Vehicle Detail

This a very clean and unique 1971 Arcomobile Camper. Yes it is a 71-registered since new that way due to the fact it was purchased new in Germany on July 9, 1971(although it resembles a 72). The bus was purchased new in Germany at Wolfsburg. It has the maintenance book and records to prove it. It was then taken and converted to a camper, so it has an Arcomobile top, Westfalia interior and the proper belly pans. The couple who bought it sold their house in the US and bought the bus new in Germany. They then toured Europe in the bus for 2 years(from 71-73). Originally they were only going to stay for a year, but enjoyed their time so much they extened it. There are numerous stamps in the maintenance book from dealerships across Europe. How often do you see that in a US bus? Once they were done in Europe they had the bus shipped back to California. But their sight seeing days weren't over and they took the bus to Alaska and back as well. This has been a well taken care of and loved vehicle for most of its life. It has spent most of its time in drier climates since it was imported back to the states. There is no rust repair needed in this vehicle and it has had only one very presentable repaint. The front floors and cargo floor are very nice. No welding ever done on it. It has no accident history either. It has very presentable paint(done approximately 12 years ago), not show quality, but nice enough to travel in stlye with little worries. It has a low mileage rebuilt motor, newer tires, updated interior, no major dents or dings and is ready to go back out an tour the countryside. There is no wall cabinet so it has a full size rear bed and front childs cot as well. It has a Westfalia icebox, cabinetry, sink, water tank but no stove. The poptop is in great shape and you will have to travel far to find another like it. It could at some point use some new seals hereand there, drivers seat re-upholstered, but that is about it. If you are looking for a bus that is very clean, presentable, unique and with little tinkering to go camping this is it. Has newer tires, a recent tune up, points, condenser, plugs, filter, the carbs rebuilt and new fuel pump. On Aug-19-10 at 21:09:26 PDT, seller added the following information: The floors and front cabin area still retain the original paint and have not been redone.
