This sale is for a 1981 Honda CBX1000 that I purchased and just started to ride in 2007. It was indoors and un-ridden for 27 years. It was only started occasionaly. It has new Bridgestone Spitfire tires and an new Yuasa Yumicron battery. It only has 3878 original miles, and it runs and rides perfect. This motorcycle has spent most of the last 27 years in an indoor garage. I have put roughly 1200 miles a year on it since I've owned it. Before it was ridden for the first time, the carb's were completely dis-assembled and cleaned, and all o-rings were replaced with new parts from Tim's CBX. The brake systems front and rear were flushed out and refilled with Bel-Ray Dot-4, as well as the fork oil. I completely dis-assembled the forks, cleaned them out and I replaced the fork seals, and refilled with 10wt Bel-Ray fork oil. I also recently adjusted the valves to .004 at 1000 miles. Oil Is Honda 4-stroke 10W40. There is nothing wrong at all with this CBX except a very few minor items I would like to mention. 1) the fuel Petcock will drip in the on position, but if left in Reserve it is fine. It has a vacuum petcock anyways so it's not really a problem. 2) there is a very small crack on the left side handlebar switch case(picture #11) . 3) A small crack on the top of the left saddlebag which has been repaired from the inside (picture #9) . 4)There are some minor scratches here and there, but the right side saddlebag is pretty scratched up (Picture #10).
