Up for auction is our beloved Volvo XC70 station wagon. We've cared for it like a child and are sad to let it go. It's just too much car for us now, as the back two-thirds are often empty. Our Volvo has a ride so quiet and smooth that one family passenger calls it a floating leather library. Sporting superb safety features and luxurious comfort, this car is a JEWEL, about as far from a lemon as is vehicularly possible! We have been meticulous with its upkeep and care, leaving it in gorgeous shape, inside and out. Expect pristine leather upholstery with no scratches, cracks, rips, or stains; original Volvo floor mats in excellent condition; additional Weather Tech rubber mats to protect the carpet in foul weather or during more rugged adventures; and a sparkling exterior that is absolutely rust-free and immaculate. This car glides onto the scene and draws compliments everywhere it goes. With newer Pirelli Scorpion tires that have plenty of tread left (and a full-size spare in the trunk), its all-wheel drive has been trusty in rain and great in heavy snow, when other cars aren’t budging. Our XC70 has an automatic transmission and is “geartronic,” meaning it can also function as a 5-speed manual shift when you want to drive more athletically. Its high-intensity, self-leveling, and self-warming Bi-xenon headlights have rain-sensing wipers, as do the windshields. A trip computer on the dash calculates mileage, time, gas levels, and needed maintenance. All controls, lights, switches, etc. are fully functional, and the safety equipment is deluxe, including a whiplash protection system, front and curtain-side airbags, rear child safety door locks, front and back fog lights, and the solid construction and excellent braking ability of all high-end Volvos. The front seats are heated and powered by 8-way position adjusters and lumbar support knobs, separate electronic climate controls for the driver and passenger, and memory function for the seat preferences of up to three different drivers. We love the large, tinted power moonroof that tilts and slides, and back-seat passengers love the good space, adjustable rear head restraints, comfy center console with cup holders, and tinted windows (they add privacy and reduce glare). In the rear storage area, we have a retractable nylon cargo net, a retractable cover, a rubber Weather Tech cargo tray to protect the carpet, and a strap system for securing groceries and other smaller items. Name a Volvo feature you’re hoping to find, and this one undoubtedly has it. Loaded with extra options, it even operates with an interior air quality system that independently determines when contaminants outside ought to be shut out and replaced with recirculating air. And don't worry, the inside smells clean— no smokers and no pets in this car. We have recently serviced the car and can safely assure you that it is in good condition, positioned to run another 100,000 miles if you take as good care of it. When we sell it, we'll include its original vehicle documentation, several years’ worth of maintenance records, and its original keys (two remote and one valet).
