Absolutely fabulous 1998 Porsche Boxster one owner, no stories, non smoker car for sale. I am selling the car for my father-in-law (better location geographically for me given I live in between Baltimore and DC and he has retired to Williamsburg, VA) who has owned the car since it came off the showroom floor. He has been a Porsche man his entire adult life and has recently bought a 911, so he is selling his beloved Boxster. He is 67 years of age, so this car has not been driven hard at all. To the contrary, it has been pampered. It has been garaged its entire life and has never been driven in the winters (read this as it has never seen snow or salt). It is a no stories car (read this as has never been in an accident or had body work done). It is extremely clean inside and out and everything is in working order (all mechanical and electrical elements). The only flaw truly would be a few minor nicks/dings in the body as you would expect with any car that is 12 years old with 70K miles, but you have to look extremely closely to even see them, and one very minor rock chip in the windshield (the size of a pinhead). The convertible top and the leather (two main areas that will typically show the most wear) are both in pristine condition. I also have all the car's accessories and a detailed file of all maintenance work that has been done throughout its life. I urge you to check with Autocheck and CarFax for details. This car scores a 92 on Autocheck where similar vehicles score in the 38 - 80 range. As far as recent work beyond routine maintenance (i.e. oil and filter changes), all four tires have very recently been replaced (on 7/7/10) with new Michelin Pilot Sports and properly aligned and balanced (tires and labor were $1,100), so there are less than 1,000 miles on these new treads (changed at 69,986 miles). A new battery was installed 1 1/2 years ago. Finally, the car is wired through the dashboard for a radar detector and a Whistler 1490 is currently mounted in the car and that will be included with the sale of the car as well. A fair and reasonable reserve has been set. PayPal or cash will be accepted from winning bidder. If winning bidder wants the vehicle shipped, they will be responsible for arranging transport. I have used several carriers in the past to ships cars without incident, so I am more than happy to provide recommendations if winning bidder needs one.
