Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on my favorite vehicle on earth, a Mercedes-Benz 230GE Cabrio. I have wanted to own one of these since the day my uncle bought one 14 years ago. Unfortunately mine, purchased nearly 3 years ago from an individual who imports these vehicles from Germany, has experienced two costly repairs that I am not willing to pay for considering an impending move. Overall the truck is pretty good condition considering its age. Prior to two weeks ago, I was planning to have the interior redone and have exhaust work performed. Unfortunately, while driving to work the engine began to overheat. After having my mechanic look at it, they noticed two large problems (you may or may not know that the 230 GE Cabrio was never sold in the US and was imported from Germany, repairs often expensive due to expensive parts and even more expensive skilled labor). 1. Valve Job, Failed Head Gasket 2. Replace Front Brake Calipers, Rotors and Pads. Replace Brake Master Cylinder **** Future notice: Break Lines and Fuel Line have rust and could warrant future and/or necessary repairs. They estimated the repair work to cost as much as seven thousand dollars with labor. I would consider having it fixed, however am moving half way across the country for school. There in lies several problems, 1) I will have to pay to ship the vehicle 2) My new living arrangements don't include a garage to keep it in. I have come to the conclusion at this time that the best move is to part ways with the vehicle and one day in the future purchase another, old, hard to find, awesome, ridiculously expensive to fix, vehicle. I have set the reserve at $4,500. This is the price a local mechanic and friend of mine has offered to pay for the vehicle. Putting it up for auction is an attempt to see if I can get more. There are a select few individuals who love this car as much as I do, and know that the Cabrio's typically fetch well over ten thousand and depending on the condition as much as twenty thousand dollars on ebay. My hope is that the winning bidder has experience working with the 230GE and is willing to give it the care it needs to keep enjoying this awesome vehicle. Please feel free to email me with any questions. I have included pictures of the interior, and detailed pictures of the exterior, including four rust spots. I have done my best to describe the needed repairs, and can possible get you more information about them if needed. Also please note, that this car should NOT be driven in its current condition. Thus the winner will have to have it towed if local, or shipped if not. I would be glad to help with expediting this process, but it is at the winning bidders cost. I will accept a personal check (transaction will not be complete until the check clears) or bank issued money order, I've never used Paypal for such a large transaction and am not even sure it works for large amounts, but can surely find out. Good Luck. PS: The odometer reading is in Kilometers (142,784) or 88,000 miles respectively. When a car of this age is imported and retitled the odometer reading becomes "exempt." While the above milage is a reflection of what the odometer sais and what I was told when I purchased the vehicle I cant make any guarantees that it in fact is 100% true and/or accurate. I WILL POST BELOW THE ANSWERS TO ANY GOOD QUESTIONS PROSPECTIVE BUYERS ASK ME. 1. Manual 4 speed Transmission2. US Title3. No AC
