Vehicle Detail

STARTING AT .01cent with NO RESERVE! The high bidder wins this truck! Don't snooze or you will loose out on a one of a kind truck! Hi, welcome to my listing. If you are looking for one of the baddest 73-91 Chevy 4X4 trucks on the planet earth...then grab a beer and put on your reading glasses! You have found your truck! Please read the ENTIRE ad...it's well worth it! What I am selling here is an ex show truck. It's a 1981 Chevrolet single rear wheel one ton 4x4 truck. This truck is a very special truck. This truck was special ordered in Salinas Ca. in 1981 and took four months to get. This truck was built at the Fremont Ca. plant. And has never left Ca. Untill recently to be stored at my families property in Oregon. Options including one ton long bed 4x4 with the Silverado trim package. Consisting of black paint with black interior. It was ordered cab light delete. It was ordered with a 454 big block and a turbo 400 automatic trans...and came with a 205 transfer case which all non military one tons came with. Factory one ton options included the thicker one ton frame...hydra boost braking system, a 35 spline Dana 60 front axle and a full floater 14 bolt rear axle with 13 x 3 1/2" big brakes. It was special ordered with 4.56 gears with a track loc posi in front and a Detroit locker in the rear. It was special ordered with a factory tachometer and gauge package, air conditioning, power windows, power locks, tilt steering column and cruise control. It also was ordered with duel fuel tanks with skid plates. The new owner immediately put a small lift on it and some aluminum rims with mud tires. There were not many options for after market 4x4 parts in 1981. This truck was in a four wheel drive magazine in 1981. There were very few if any trucks like it at the time...or even today! The second owner purchased the tuck in later part of 1981. He owned Service Center speed shop in Salinas Ca. So here is where the fun begins. He had free rein of what ever performance parts he wanted! Over the years...this truck was heavily up graded. Consisting of but not limited to. Two red Optima battery's were installed. A power loc replacing the original track loc in the Dana 60 front axle...along with steel locking hubs. (Stronger than the factory Warn aluminum hubs.) Axle trusses were added to both front and rear axles. (Which they do not make anymore...and are impossible to find these days!) Willwood rear disc brakes with cross drilled and vented rotors being added to the full floater 14 bolt rear axle. An 8" lift with soft ride front springs. Duel front shocks. Cross over steering / high steer being added. Duel front and rear winches being added to the truck. The front is a 10'000 LB and the rear is an 8'000 LB Side winder. Both winches are custom installed to get them up out of the way as much as possible. An extra battery with an isolator was installed for the winches. A smooth suburban rear bumper was added to the rear for a cleaner look. Custom aluminum diamond plate was professionally added to the lower rocker area running most of the length of the truck. Along with the rear tailgate trim being louvered. A new lacquer black paint job was applied to the truck...including the front wheel wells and radiator support. It was pin striped...including all emblems were removed and them painted back on. Aluminum Weld Typhoon 16.5 x 12" wheels were added along with Super Swamper Bogger 35 x 16 x 16.5" tires were added. An aluminum diamond plate tool box was added. Along with a goose neck 5th wheel hitch in the bed...covered by a rubber non slip bed mat. The rear tow hitch was re located up under the rear bumper with a hidden hitch. It is covered by the rear license plate frame...which has a quick release Dzus fasteners to easily remove it. Now for the interior. It has a CD player with two speakers in the dash and two on the rear cab corners. Looks very clean and factory. A complete 6 gauge Autometer gauge pack was added to over ride the original gauges plus a few. Oil pressure, Water temp, Fuel pressure, Vacuum, Oil temp and trans temp. These are installed below the dash in a nice black powder coated pod. The factory tachometer is still being used. Late 80s-early 90s Suburban steering wheel, seats and center console have been added to give a more updated look. It's also has an awesome black powder coated bolt in roll cage and race lap seat belts. The rear sliding window was replaced with a three piece tinted slider...instead of the factory four piece slider. It's very clean looking! Now for the engine. It's a .60 over 454...468CI. It has TRW forged pistons, World Products Merlin large oval port cylinder heads, a hydraulic roller cam, roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap aluminum intake manifold with a near new Holley 750 double pumper carburetor. An aluminum water pump, aluminum timing cover, aluminum valve covers that look like stock covers. MSD Pro Billet distributor with an MSD 6AL box with MSD plug wires. It has a deep sump Milodon oil pan. It has a 1/2 fuel lines from the tanks forward with a Morose filter. And to top it off a K&N air cleaner. There are many steel braided lines on the engine as well as transmission lines that lead to an aluminum trans cooler. It has a four core radiator. This truck rarely ever gets past 180 degrees. It has Doug Thorley Tri Y headers with a 2 1/2" Flowmaster exhaust system. The engine, trans and rear end were rebuilt no more than 3'000 to 4'000 miles ago on the high side. It also had a rebuilt master cylinder and hydra boost unit installed. And the transfer case received new front and rear bearings. Known issues. The paint is probably 15 years old. It's still looks nice for an old truck. But has some nicks, scratches and small dings here and there...and could use a polish. The rear bumper is tweaked...but I'm including another straight bumper just like it with the truck. It needs a new drivers side front window track rubber. The dash pad has one crack in the middle. The tail gate is a little tweaked...But it still works. The extra winch battery is missing. The Autometer oil temp gauge is not working. The cruise control is not working. The A/C does not work. The engine has a rear main seal leak from the truck sitting for a while right after the engine was re built...I'm including a new seal and new one piece oil pan gasket. I'm being picky here. Remember this is a 1981 vehicle. They are all minor fixes. The truck has a Clear Ca. title in my name registered on non op status. The millage on the odometer and listed on eBay is not accurate. Auto check shows the millage at 95'200 miles in 5/2008. But the speedometer cable is broken...So it's not accurate. Going off the autocheck report and what I know about the truck. The true millage is likely in the low 70k's. It was obviously entered wrong when it was last smogged. It is being 100% SOLD AS IS! It's hard to explain any 29 year old vehicle in a few words...but that's about the jist of it. If you have any questions? Please ask them before the auction is over! I'm an eight year eBay veteran. I have 100% positive feed back and I'm also an eBay Power Seller! Buy with confidence! I'm in Ca. But the truck is currently located in White City Or.97503 at my family's house. So you will be paying me in Ca...unless you pick it up in person and pay cash. If you have read this far...this truck is obviously for you! I promise you will NOT find another truck like this one! This is not some buttered up 20" lifted half ton. This is a real one ton that has many rare factory options...as well as expensive and top notch additions. There is a lot of money and love put into this truck! I just don't drive it often enough to warrant keeping it. My family has outgrown it. It needs a good home with someone who will put some pride into it. If you started from scratch...I'm sure you couldn't find a truck like this and build it for even $25-30k!!! There is nothing to compare this truck to! TERMS: I prefer a cash in person deal! I will accept U.S. Postal money orders if you can't pick it up in person. Payment is due in my hand in no more than three calender days from auction end! I will make a small exception if you are out of the country. Please don't send any other form of payment! If you need to overnight the payment to get it here on time...please do so. Buyer is responsible for any shipping costs and set up of shipping if need be. I know of a good reasonably priced shipper. Don't bid on this auction if you are not ready to buy this truck or do not have the money! Your winning bid means you bought this truck....not won a chance to come look at it!
