This 1996 VW Passat TDI is up for auction. This Passat was owned by a family friend (dentist) that has 4 or 5 of these TDI'S. He actually traded it in for a newer model. This VW TDI has been carefully maintained over the years and has always delivered 44 - 48 mpg. It is in very good condition with almost new tires, a solid body with NO rust (it's always been in Florida). The clear coat is peeling so it could use a paint job and there are a few minor dings. This passat is a 5 speed manual transmission and it shifts smoothly thru all gears. All the electrical is in great working condition, and the A/C blows ice cold in all fan speeds. A complete over haul of the engine was done at about 225,000 miles and a new timing belt about 12,000 miles ago. This VW passat does NOT have a sunroof which is a positive thing because it ensures no leaking inside the vehicle. This car runs great and until recently was a daily driver for this family. This car is for sale as is so please ask any questions you may have. It is for sale on our lot so we reserve the right to end auction early. I was going through some old paperwork and found the invoices for work that we did in June and July of 2009. This was when the timing belt was replaced with a complete timing belt kit. We also replaced the thermostat, rear shocks, oil cooler seal kit, a new condensor, and a new radiator. I have copies of all the completed work on this Passat. The winner of this auction will recieve copies of the completed work invoices to keep for their records.
