Offered for bid is an incredibly clean, great running 1975 Honda Goldwing that is being posted for my father (at 83 he is not much of a computer guy). Although I live in Tallahassee, Florida he and the bike reside in Rochester, Washington which is 22 miles outside of Olympia (the capital of Washington). If it wasn’t for the fact that the bike is almost 3,000 miles from me, I guarantee that this first year classic, that is sure to go up in value, would without hesitation be joining the three other bikes in my garage. Because I like the look of the stock bike so well, if it were in my possession I would replace the aftermarket seat, remove the sissy bar, saddle bags and Vetter Windjammer fairing and sell them on Ebay. As you can see from the pictures the Windjammer fairing looks brand new. Windjammer fairings in this condition have become somewhat of a collector item and could, along with the other removed items, recoup a good portion of the purchase price of the bike. Unfortunately I will not be able to make that decision so here is your chance to own a piece of history. In 1975 Honda introduced the GL1000 selling 13,000 that year. At the time, the GL1000 was the biggest, heaviest and second quickest motorcycle on the market and quickly earned cult status as the bike to have for eating miles. I find it hard to believe that in 35 years this bike has only been ridden 16,182 miles. In May I put 10,000 mile on my bike in one trip! I guess that is why 35 years later this bike looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor and 35 years from now my bike will be reduced to dust. In September 2009 the bike was serviced and the carburetors cleaned at a cost of $1,098.14. The bike has only been ridden a few times since then but continues to run like a fine watch and everything on it works and looks like almost new condition. If you are the winning bidder you will be receiving a bike I would feel comfortable riding any distance and if you are a collector, one that I am sure will go up in value. The bike is being sold as is, no returns and no warranty implied. A non-refundable $500.00 deposit is required at auction end, with the balance due within two weeks in the form of a cashiers check or cash. Buyer is responsible for shipping or pick up.
