Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1961 Chevy Greenbrier. These have the rear mounted Corvair motor and the Forward Control models are made with a heavy duty motor. I bought this in hopes of restoring it myself. I soon learned that it was beyond my capabilities. When I purchased this vehicle almost a year ago, it had shag carpet, paneling on the ceiling. The seats were not original. I have started work on the inside of the drivers door and the drivers rockers. Both rockers will need to be fixed as they are rusted through. The floor in the front seat area looks good with only surface rust and not even a pinhole. I did some work on the underside of the front as well and was amazed when scraping off the road grime that the metal looked fantastic. I have not work on the vehicle anywhere past the front seats other than to tear out the 70's shag carpet and panelling. I purchased it from an auto shop teacher in Nebraska and when purchased it, I was told the motor turned over but had low compression in one cylinder. I have all the hardware removed from the front door and inside the front door van side. I have the glove box cover as well but removed it to get it keyed. The driver's front door handle was also removed so a key could be made. I have the 3 captains chairs that are sitting inside the van and the two front seats that I got when purchased. I also have two more tires and rims as is on the drivers front side. The van came with what appeared to be the oriignal rims but found out that 3 were 6" wide and 1 was 7" wide. Those will be included as well. Glass is good except for the windshield which has a crack on the drivers side where it curves slightly. The brakes to not work as the master cylinder is empty and was on my to do list. The van goes into gear and I use chock blocks as seen in the pictures. Windows are hard to get up or down and the regulators could probably use a good cleaning and regrease. The van steers and rolls. I can detect two spots of body repair and pictured them both. The first is on the drivers side rear panel. It appears to be a pencil line crease. The second is on the roof and I can only see what appears to be bondo cracking off. The extent of either I cannot say for sure. Rust on any other part of the body only appears to be small bubbles so no panels should need to be replaced other than the rockers. I can send as many pictures to you as you would like, just email me. Feel free to ask any questions and I will answer them as soon as possible.
