You are bidding on a 1959 Single Cab. I am selling this vehicle for a friend. He originally purchased this vehicle in 1989. The restoration was completed a year later. According to the prior owner, the truck was used by two VW Dealerships in Roseburg, Oregon. During the restoration, the original engine was replaced by a freshly rebuilt 1600 cc dual port that was upgraded to include a spin on oil filter and electronic ignition. The original transmission was rebuilt and converted to a “Freeway Flyer” with a higher 4th gear. The bigger engine and higher geared transmission allows this sharp looking truck to cruise all day at 65 mph. The electrics have also been converted to 12volt. The truck includes the correct “slash” bumpers, jack and spare. Treasure Chest floor is in excellent condition. Everything is working properly and there is zero rust. The Truck’s serial number is 487330 and engine serial number is AK128237. The speedometer shows 77k but my friend doesn’t know if this is the original mileage. This truck is not perfect but runs and drives excellent and is a head turner everywhere it goes. $500 payment required within 3 days of the auction’s close.
