Vehicle Detail

I've been restoring classic autos for about 30 years. I rate my cars as "A", "B" or "C" cars. An "A" is a numbers matching Nationals contender, never, ever to be driven. A "B" will never win at the Nationals but will do very well on the local level and is rarely driven. A "C" is a real nice driver and may pick up a trophy from time to time on the local level. This has been built to this point as a "C" type car. I bought this car about 4 years ago from a friend who was really needing some cash quick. The price was right and it was a cool old car, so what the heck. I finally got around to working on it a few weeks ago. I started by stripping it down to bare metal. Tailpanel was good, as were the quarters (right one has been replaced at one time and done very well. All trunk area, decklid, roof, doors, fenders, hood, firewall, rockers, all braces and torque boxes, all nice. The floor pans were weak, so I installed new pans and seat risers. I fabricated two patches for under the back seat and one under the battery tray. The core support had a bad dent in it so I installed a new one. All cutting and welding was done with a plasma cutter and mig welder using solid core steel wire (no flux core ever). Once all the cutting and welding was done the rough in body work was done (only about a quart of filler was used on the entire car) and a coat of a buff colored rust inhibiting polyestor primer was applied. It was then longboarded with 80 and reprimed, then longboarded with 180, then given a final coat of black laquer primer. A new front lower valance was installed, new battery tray and new rear lower valance. The car could be final sanded and painted for a nice paint job or blocked and primed a couple more times to make it super slick. The car was originally Gulfstream Aqua with Aqua interior. It will need a complete interior kit. Seat frames are good solid cores to repad and recover. Car originally had a 289 with a C4 auto tranny. Both long gone. It comes with a disassembled 302 (with an extra head). No transmission. Has power steering. Has disc brake pedal, but brakes are drum (must have been changed somewhere along the way). There are several boxes of used parts; parklights, reverse lights, side markers,3 auto floor shifters, glovebox, heater controls, etc. Grill is pretty decent, bumpers should be rechromed or replaced. It will need a new gas tank.Wheels need restored and tires are just rollers. All original side windows are nice. The drivers door needs a new regulator, the original is stripped out, all the other windows roll up and down fine. Back glass is good and was reinstalled with a new gasket. A new tinted and shaded windshield was installed with a new gasket. One upper front stainless molding has a small ding and the upper rear has a dent in it. All the rest of the stainless moldings look good. This car still has a long way to go, but it is a good solid start. I have a clear Arkansas title in my name. Feel free to ask any and all questions or better yet come on by and look her over. I'll need a non-refundable $500.00 deposit via paypal within 24 hour. Full payment to made via Paypal, cash in hand or bank wire transfer within 5 days. I can store the car inside for about 2 or 3 weeks. After that, I'll need the space and she'll have to go outside and it's really too far along to leave outside anymore. I can overnight the title to you if needed once full payment is made.I am available to help load most anytime. I'm including pics of some of my work to show what type cars I do. All pics are recent. 69 GTO was done about 20 years ago, pic taken about 2 weeks ago.37 Ford pickup streetrod was done about 6 years ago, pic taken today. The red 68 Camaro with black stripes was done about 4 years ago, pic taken March 6, 2010. The all red 68 Camaro was done end of February 2010, pic taken March 6, 2010.
