Vehicle Detail
1964 International Harvester 4x4 One Ton Fire Truck Here is your chance to own a very unique piece of history, either restore as a extremely low mile pickup or keep it as a quick response brush fire fighter. Originaly purchased by Kittitas County Fire Dept. in Thorpe Washington on 02-18-1964 and sold by them on 07-31-2001. It has less than 8400 miles on it and engine runs as smooth as glass. Ramsey P.T.O. winch works flawless. Most of the fire equipment is still in tact except the revolving light, fender mounted siren, front bumper mounted fire extinguishers (mounts still intact), hose control nozzle, and fire axe (mount is on the back of truck). The P.T.O. driven Waterous pump has been drained as well as the tank to prevent freezing. The one ton drive train consists of a bullett proof dana 60 front end and a Rockwell H.D. rear with 4.88 gears. Transfer case shifts great and so does the 4 speed manual transmission. This truck runs and drives like a 1964 one ton pickup with bias ply tires should. The body is in excellernt shape with very minor flaws that are shown in the pictures. Passenger door as been over extended and this is the worse part of the whole body. There is no real rust to be found on this truck, it is as dry as any 1964 truck that I have ever seen. I have tried to be as honest and as accurate as possible to describe this vehicle and think that the pictures should speak for themselves and they show how nice this unrestored low mile truck really is.
