I have been restoring this for the last three years! This needs nothing that I am aware of except a little bodywork. She is solid and powerful as it was on day one! Yes I do know. I bought one brand new in 1988. These cars are known for 350,000 –400,000 miles. Their reputation off road is legendary. Since I listed there has been questions about the engine: This engine does NOT burn, drip, or leak oil. All the leaks have been repaired on the engine. When I did repairs I used top-notch parts. The suspension has a 2” lift. While I was there everything that looked bad or rusty was replaced. This includes brake rotors all around, pads, shoes, and springs. The front has a new link bar, bearing hubs, dust shield, shocks, and lots more. There are all new U joints and exhaust. This lift is 2". I didn't want to over do this, and I still wanted to be able to drive it on road comfortably. There is an added leaf spring, and spacers in the front. This may be the only early Cherokee with a remote door lock system that WORKS. The single button remote is original. The receivers on these go bad, and no one repairs them. I rebuilt this one to work even better than original. All the locks and windows work. One may be sticky, and slow but they all work. The stereo system has 1000 watt amp with all the trimmings, like a Jenson 12 SUB, and a Panasonic Ghost radio head unit. There is also four Infinity reference speakers. All professionally installed. This also has an Ipod/AUX input. I did blow out one of the midrange speakers, but I just bought a new higher power pair of 6x9’s to replace both speakers. You will get them too. All the work that I did was done meticulously. I even replaced the little clip to hold the hood arm in place. Every missing non-essential part was also replaced including new roof rack bolts, electrical cover under the hood, rear wiper and wiper motor, pin switches for the interior lamnps. I even replaced those plastic rivets holding the fascia under the grill in place with stainless bolts. This has 31” tires all around with 80% tread. Front end is perfect. 4X4 system perfect. Transmission perfect. Suspension is perfect. All vacuum leaks have been found and repaired. Most of the plastic lines were replaced. You need to do nothing. There are five super bright sealed beam lights on top. A pair of very expensive sealed stainless steel lights on the front. All this is controlled by electronic tactile switches built into the dash. See the pictures! The body does have a couple small holes along the bottom, and a little rust along the bottom edge. Does need some body work. The mirrors did not work, so I replaced them with used chrome mirrors. They were torn apart greased, cleaned, and rebuilt before they were installed. When I replaced the power window system I also installed the optional vented windows. The ignition switch is new along with anything I can find in the steering column while I was there. The interior lights were replaced with LED lights. Every button and screw is in place for everything I touched. Cooling system was rebuilt this spring because she was running hot. This included a new high flow water pump, a copper and brass triple core radiator, Gaterback belt, thermostat, and I upgraded the system so you can prime it properly. The AC works, but not very well. This is pretty much loaded with a few exceptions. Leather, power seats and power mirrors. I alos repaired the clock. Even though all of this has been done I am offering it AS-IS, as parts. THERE IS NO RETURN because this car has 256,000 miles on it. No warrantee, but please come and drive it. This is registered, and I may have put 20 miles on it since I bought it. The sticker is the original because I never drive it. Local pick up is best. Shipping is 100% paid and set up by the buyer. The listing price is fair since I just spen almost $800 a month ago. The radiator alone was $220.00 and is the best available for this car. All the brakes have been done. Rotors, pads, and anything else that needed attention. Please ask questions before you bid.
