Vehicle Detail
Hi Folks, Welcome to my auction. I had big plans to make my 55 Chevy into a Gasser type, American Graffiti/Two Lane Black Top Hot Rod. But with too many projects and very little time, I have decided to sell my Double Nickel. The car has the old Hot Rod looks but still has the original 265 V-8 and Powerglide transmission. It runs and drive pretty good, but too mild for my taste. Car has manual steering and brakes, plus the old skool American Racing Torq Thrust wheels with new tires. The car came from California some time ago, so the body is pretty decent compared to most Midwest rust buckets. The body supports are all rot free, both rocker panels in the middle had some amateur repair, the right front floor pan was replaced and there is some rust in the very rear of the trunk rear support brace. The hood scoop is bolted in place, plus there is a hole in the hood to make it functional. The car was painted many years ago so expect to find some chips and scratches, but it does have that old race car patina look. Most of the chrome appears to be original still looks good, bumpers have been replaced recently. The interior is pretty basic, the seat covers and headliner all match, but the door panels were left off to give it that I want to go fast and need to lose some extra weight look. The headlights work ok, the turn signals do not cancel, the fuel gauge and speedometer are inopt. The car has many possibilities, drop a big block, add a 4 speed, install a straight axle, radius the rear wheel wells or just drive the car as is, you can't go wrong with a black 55 Chevy! The car is priced to sell, so get your bids or offers in soon. Call with any question or concerns. You are welcome to come and inspect the vehicle or have it inspected for you. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time because I have it listed locally. Thanks for your interest. What's your reserve? What's your bottom dollar? Considering any trades? So to make it fair for everyone interested, I will answer your questions for everyone to see. The car is listed on carsonline.com for $15900 or best cash offer. My reserve is slightly under that figure. I do not have a bottom line price in mind, you know what I'm asking, bid the most you are willing to spend or make an offer. I can't completely rule out any trades, but it hard to beat a 55 Chevy. Maybe a 1950's or 1960's convertible and 1930's Street Rod. Please, no motorcycles or race cars. Keep the questions coming! Thanks to all interested parties!!!! Art On Aug-12-10 at 18:32:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi, I just listed a few more cars. Check out my other listings. I guess when you grow up playing with Hot Wheels, you are never happy with just one car! I have been playing/restoring/collecting cars since I was 17 years old and now I am getting closer to the big five zero number, plus working as an auto technician for over 29 years, the body is not the same anymore! I would consider trading a few cars for a nice late 40's thru late 50's Chevy, Buick, Oldsmobile or Pontiac convertible, 1956-1962 Corvette or 55-56 Nomad. Thanks. Art On Aug-13-10 at 14:33:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note: For some reason, my phone will not pick up 1-800 numbers or calls from private callers. I am not interested in listing my cars on other websites, I pay enough here on Ebay. Thanks
