Very unusual VW Beetle for sale. Car was specially ordered. Has all available options other than leather seating: 6-speed DSG (direct shift gearbox) automatic transmission. This is a double-clutch automatic, without a torque converter, seldom installed in anything but luxury sportscars, for example Porsches, where it is called a PDK transmission. It is no longer available in Beetles. Xenon headlights (w/ electronic leveling and headlight washers) from factory. ESP (electronic stabilization program), This became standard after 2006 but was still optional in 2005. Cold weather package (heated front seats and windshield washer nozzles). Additional options installed are a leather-wrapped steering wheel (OEM VW, it is the same one that comes if leather is ordered) and VW floor mats that (as can be seen in the photos) have walls that don’t allow any liquid to reach the floor. The carpets underneath are as new. The original carpeted mats (as new) are not installed but come with the car. The car has a CD player and (new for 2005 models) there is a audio input jack below the dash just behind the right seat heat control, so it is possible to connect a iPod. The TDI models came with a Monsoon sound system with amplifier so the sound is quite good. The factory bi-xenon headlights are amazing. They give beautiful light; they are auto-leveling, there is a motor that adjusts them according to how the car is loaded. There are also headlight washers and, exclusive to the bi-xenons, "city lights" in the headlight assemblies. These are small bluish bulbs that act as parking lights. You can see them if you expand the close-up photo of the headlight. Color is Tornado Red. This was the only model year in which this particular red was available. This is VW’s traditional red for the GTI. The diesel engine has not been offered in a Beetle since 2006. The car is in showroom condition. No one has ever smoked in it. There are none of the usual door dings that a 5 year old car would usually accumulate. No body work has ever been done. All required maintenance has been performed as you can see in the schedule below. The correct spec (505.01) oil has always been used. This is important for the PD diesel engine, in fact the wrong oil will quickly damage this engine. EPA estimate for the car is 36 city /42 hwy mpg and that is very close to what I see. All original keys (2 remotes, 1 valet key), owner’s manual and window sticker come with car. The car presently has an extended warranty from VW, the VW RealDriver (now called DriveEasy) warranty. It is the best coverage “Platinum” warranty with no deductible and covers until March 2015 or until the car reaches 80 K miles (presently at 30K). The coverage is described at this website http://www.vw.com/myvw/vwcredit/vehicleprotection/en/us/vscBlock.htm This warranty cannot be purchased after the car has passed out of its original 4 yr warranty, so I strongly suggest that the buyer continue the coverage.
