*****PLEASE NOTE: I am listing this car with NO RESERVE. If you would like to make an offer please leave a phone number or call me at (917) 749-4302 cell. Lets make these bids legit please. These auctions cost money and I don't have time to start chasing you. Thank you and good luck. ***** UP FOR AUCTION IS A GREAT LOOKING 1966 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL CONVERTIBLE WITH IT'S FACTORY SUICIDE DOORS, SHOWING 86K MILES ON THE ODOMETER (BELIEVED TO BE ACTUAL) AND TURN-KEY AND READY TO DRIVE. VERY SHARP CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. FACTORY OPTIONS: THE CAR HAS THE USUAL ARRAY OF POWER OPTIONS LIKE ANY OTHER LINCOLN CONVERTIBLE, BUT THIS ONE HAS 3 RATHER RARE ONES AS WELL: 1) Factory bucket seats with center console divider 2) Air conditioning 3) Remote convertible top mechanism switch (unusual option that started in 1966) Vehicle comes from Iowa, where it was in an older collector's collection. As luck would have it, a friend of mine from NY acquired the car about a year ago and did a lot of work to it to get it to its present condition. The convertible top was not working, so it was professionally repaired by fixing a few bad relays, switches, and checking the entire system (right now it works great) at a cost of close to $1000. When the vehicle arrived, the transmission was having issues shifting, so it was completely rebuilt, again by reputable professional shop and reinstalled at a cost of over $2700. Some minor tune-up items were replaced as need and some other minor odds and ends. Very presentable and a NICE DRIVER the way it sits right now. The body and underneath were what impressed me the most about this car, other than the fact that it had only 86K miles on the clock (which are believed to be actual miles). I've owned a few of these older Lincolns, and this one is by far one of the straightest and most rust-free one I've seen that wasn't priced in the six figures! Interior is in GOOD/VERY GOOD condition with only minor general wear here and there. Seats have minor wear as you can see. Door panels very nice. Dash pad is very nice. Carpet is older but still very presentable. Convertible top canvas is in one piece, but is weathered and has some minor rips at the sides. Overall a nicely presentable driver quality interior! Under the hood lies the MATCHING NUMBERS V8 motor along with an automatic transmission on the column. Starts easily and sounds good. Good stock power overall and brakes stop VERY WELL. Nice and solid throughout. Steering has some play in the wheel so it may need a little tightening. Very fun to drive and you can hop in and drive it right now with minor tlc. I've driven it mostly around town here and there and every once in a while on the highway on the way to a cruise night or local show, never on any long trips, so before you take the car out for a long drive I would recommend having it gone through to be safe and work out all the little bugs. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up fairly NICE with good luster for a very presentable driver (NOT a showcar of course). NO signs of rust other than two tiny bubbles by passenger side rear wheel well and some scaly surface rust on the underside (some areas show peeling older undercoating). Hood color is very slightly off from the rest of the car. A/C may need recharge/check-up. Not working: rear driver's side and front passenger side windows, couple of other electrical accessories may need attention as the car hasn't been driven very much (like power antenna for example). Could use tune-up soon. Chrome is very presentable, but not show quality of course. Small area of rear trunk lid extension has some tape marks on it. That's about all I was able to notice. It may need a few other tiny things as any other used car, so please keep that in mind. OVERALL IT'S A VERY COOL CRUISER THAT COULD EASILY BE A DAILY DRIVER WITH VERY MINOR WORK. HOP IN AND DRIVE IT WITH THE TOP DOWN AND ENJOY THE WEATHER. THIS IS A RARE OPTIONED, NEARLY RUST-FREE AND VERY STRAIGHT EXAMPLE OF A 1966 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL CONVERTIBLE WITH SUICIDE DOORS AND 86K MILES (BELIEVED TO BE ACTUAL) THAT YOU CAN ENJOY WITH THE TOP DOWN OR KEEP AS PART OF YOUR CLASSIC CRUISER COLLECTION!.
