Vehicle Detail
relisted due to unable to finance. please serious bidders only. european bidders welcome 1970 Mercedes Benz 300sel 6.3 white on black. The color code on the ID plate states 717 Papyrus White. This is a very bright white. This is the original color I am told. I purchased this car from California. I do not have records on the mileage but it seems to be 123798 miles. I brought the car to a reputable expert and spent over $15k on mechanical repairs over the past three years (have the entire repair records for this). There were extensive repairs done by the prior owner as well. The car is mechanically excellent. The body seems to be solid all the way around. I have taken undercarriage pictures the best I could. The rockers are solid. There seems to be minor body repair around the rear wheel arches and quarters by the previous owner. The work looks to be good. Floors boards are solid. Paint is overall very good to excellent. A few chips but overall shine is excellent. The interior is excellent. Leather and wood are excellent as shown in the pictures. All the door wood and the wood bow were profesionally refinshed and are excellent. Carpets are excellent. Radio and speakers are not original. Chrome is good, minor wear showing in some places. All rubbers seals, door, window etc were changed when the car was repainted by the prior owner and are in excellent condition. All the air suspension was rebuilt (valves and air bellow), injection pump and injectors, shocks, motor mounts, air compressor, water pump, heater levers etc. I had the engne bay detailed and it looks excellent. Car has excellent heat. A/C must be recharged at the moment. It has a brand new Mercedes battery. I am told it has the typical 6.3 oil leaks. Nothing major but typical with age. The car runs and drives excellent. I would not hesitate to drive back to California. Good start up, good oil pressure. Car does not smoke. Transmission shifts are good and rear axle is good. No rattles or vibration when braking. Tires are brand new. I am forced to sell this car due to unforeseen circumstances. I have kept the car as a no reserve auction. The sale will be final. I recommend you drive the car. You can inspect the car at anytime. It is an older car and it is not new. It will probably need something as I have learned.
