Vehicle Detail

1972 Plymouth Fury III Blitz Black with Metalflake Roof Jump To Photos Personal Regretful circumstances forces the sale of our personal ride, a 1972 Plymouth Fury III Tudor Coupe with NO RESERVE. This was a rare car when built with just over 9,000 produced. In the last five years that we have owned the car we have seen one other example of this model. This car is well recognized in the Kansas City area. It had about 89,000 original miles on it when purchased and we have turned another nearly 30,000 miles on the odometer since then. This car has been a well maintained "driver". Though certainly not every day transportation. It has been a fixture at outdoor events, cruises, kustom kulture gatherings, Rockabilly shows and etc. History This is an original California car. It was originally beige with a white vinyl top (photo before paint below). Major original equipment includes 360 c.i. V-8, automatic, factory air conditioning, cruise control, hide-away headlights, bumper guards, fender skirts, radio, split front bench seat, vinyl top, and tinted windows (Along with other options I am sure I am missing here). The owner previous to me bought it from the estate of the original owner in California and transported it back to the Kansas City area. The second owner did the general maintenance and updates required of an old car (rubber, fluids, tune up and etc.), he removed the original vinyl top and painted the roof to match the body's factory color. We are the third owners. The Car We have lowered the car with 3" blocks on the rear axle to spring mounts and major torsion bar adjustment in the front for a nearly 6" drop. We have added AM/FM CD, a complete dual exhaust system from manifolds to rear including free flow mufflers and LARGE exhaust tips (it has a strong mellow rumble). The car was painted (not primer) with John Deere Blitz Black (flat to satin sheen) including under hood, trunk, and door jambs. The roof was painted silver and then heavily covered with the largest octagon mirror metal flake available which sits under 11 coats of clear. The front grill "teeth" are cut from mirrored Lexan sheet. Tires are in excellent condition. No body modifications have been done, front grill teeth can be easily removed, original factory radio and rear spring mounts are included "extra parts" with the car. Pros This car is an attention stealer! Kids love the "teeth chomping" by opening and closing the headlight doors. Checkbook rodders get pissed when this car gets more attention than their $100,000.00 wonders. The car has NEVER had rust anywhere and is about as straight as you could expect of a 38 year old automobile. Hideaway headlight system works perfectly. Exhaust and tires are three years old, paint work is two years old. We are kustom kulture, old school, hot rod types but this car has mass appeal to nearly every group we come across. Old school, customs, lowriders, hot rodders, even muscle car guys LOVE this car. Plus, it is nearly a guarantee that you will have the only one no matter where you take it.Cons The de-torqued front torsion bars give it a rough ride. Air-ride is an option, you may also find a set of Heavy Duty front torsion bars (Police or Big Block equipment) to replace these stock units. Or, if your comfort is more important than the low and cool factor, just adjust the torsion bars back up. It is LOW, I mean really low. You are going to bottom out. Some speed bumps or very bad roads are simply not passable in this car. The exhaust system was tucked up between the rails nicely with this in mind. The A/C system is complete (R12) but will not hold a charge longer than 48 hours or so. It will also need a new headliner which has become frail with age. The front dash pad has a couple of cracks, there is a three inch tear in the driver's seat, and the carpet, though complete, is not "show quality" by any means. The fuel gauge sending unit will stick if you let the gas run below half a tank. We always kept her full if possible so it was not a problem however a new sending unit is probably in order. The original radiator was damaged. We replaced it with a stock radiator from a 1980 Dodge pickup. The original (damaged) radiator is included in the "extra parts". The original plastic headlight grills (they mount to the headlight doors) were damaged. A new set will need to be found to return it to stock. Last week it was "test driven" by a prospective local buyer and was returned with a broken speedometer cable. ZERO miles have been driven since then and we are going to try and have this repaired before delivery. Delivery This car must be picked up. We will not deliver, assist in delivery, make special arrangements, or attempt any international headaches in the delivery of this car. We recommend it to be trailered to your destination (bring long ramps to compensate for the low stance). This is a nearly 40 year old car running stock mechanicals. Although I have no problem jumping in and driving it, things can, have and will break on an old car. We can not make any guarantees of any sort. If you cannot live with the responsibility of owning an old car from the instant you purchase it, DO NOT BID ON MY CAR! Payment A non-refundable $900.00 deposit is due via PayPal the moment the listing closes. The remaining is due within 7 days of purchase. If the remaining funds are not paid within 7 days, your deposit will be lost and the car will be re-listed for sale. We will store the car for up to 60 days to allow convenient pickup at no charge. If you can not agree to these terms DO NOT BID ON THIS CAR. PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING ON THIS CAR! Additional photos of under hood and interior will be posted soon. Follow us on Facebook! We don't hide things in fuzzy little images! Provided below are large and clear photos. Please check out the images and contact us with any questions. This is a Photoshop image of the car on 5 spokes and thin WW. Not included with car. This is what the car looked like before repaint This image shows the front of the car with the factory headlight door grills.
