Vehicle Detail
Up for sale with NO RESERVE is my 68 Mustang project car. This car was one of approximately 1500 Sports Sprint Specials offered in 68. This one is a Package B car. It was nicely equiped with factory air, power steering, V-8 and automatic transmission. It is a C code meaning it orginally came with a 2 barrel 289. It now has a 68 dated code 302. The engine was removed and partially dissasembled but reinstalled for shipping purposes. The C4 is in the trunk along with other parts. This was a completely functional and driving car before taking it apart. The car has been completely dismantled for restoration. Orginally Acapulco Blue with black interior and black C stripe. One of my all time favorite colors on early Mustangs. This car will be a sharp looking ride when done. It is currently painted a lighter shade of blue and was a pretty crappy paint job but could have passed for a daily driver. Being fairly rare and having good options this car deserves a nice restoration. Overall, the car is pretty solid with solid floors, aprons, trunk drops, quarters and fenders. There are a few minor rust issues that I can see with a small dime size hole at the bottom of the rear glass on the driver side, rusty battery apron, quarter size hole near the passenger side upper door hinge. I also recall a little corrosion in the passenger side drip rail near the front. The headliner is out since it had tears but the seats are excellent and dash pad is nice too. Appears to have been in minor collison at one time since there is a new fender apron on the driver side and core support was just beat out . It should be replaced. Underhood is pretty good with the exception of the holes cut in the shock towers for grease zirks. There are some new parts on the car including lower control arms, tie rod ends and ball joints. It has a new gas tank and new shocks all the way around. The car is 99% complete missing underhood wiring harness and fastners. The fenders and doors have been loosely reinstalled for shipping purposes. This will be a pretty straight forward restoration for anyone who is familar with early Mustangs and with the low starting price and no reserve is outright bargin. I have tried to describe the car to the best of my ability and with it stripped down the way it is, it is pretty much what you see is what you get with no surprises. Please feel free to ask any and all questions and I will try to answer in a reasonable amout of time. Good luck and happy bidding!
